Canadians going to World Cup matches and Jays games might have bumped up the July numbers.
Immigration enforcement. Canadian style.

Students set themselves up! All very civil though.
I kind of feel for some of the students where the rug was pulled on them with the rules changing after they started their programs. Immigration didn’t help the situation where they failed to update the website in a timely manner.
On the other hand, the government is under no obligation to honour promises made by the career college and it is up to the government to change immigration rules as they see fit. The hope/desire, is that people who entered under one set of rules are given reasonable consideration/treatment when the rules change mid-stream (e.g. grandfathering or some sort of transition period).
Returning US alcohol to provincial liquor stores is not much of a concession by Canada.
Could probably go in any number of thread’s here…
Some incredible comments from Vance…
“It’s hilarious because Carney presents this as some victory for Canada when fundamentally, like, they climb down on a lot of issues,” Vance told the room.
“But the quiet sort of behind-the-scenes story is that this, like, random MP who has a good relationship with us has been a pretty effective advocate,” he said about Jivani.
Vance added there’s “this guy Pierre Poilievre or something” who is the leader of the Conservatives in Canada, adding he is a “non-entity” in negotiations.
For context, the “random MP” is Jamil Jivani is Vance’s former college roommate who he’s know for 20 odd years. Jivani has been trying to leverage that relationship to raise his profile. Poilievre is the leader of Jamil’s political party.
It is hard to comment on what Vance said as it was so ludicrous. Sad that he may be the next POTUS.
There is certainly no sense of victory in Canada that we got a good deal. The trading relationship was much better prior to Trump’s tariffs for both sides.
and Pierre said ‘when I speak, I speak for the party. when Jamil speaks, he speaks for himself’.
lol that’s quite a slap.
Apparently Rubio is out polling him…
I prefer Rubio way over Vance. He might be more reasonable if not under Trump’s thumb.
Doug Ford says what Carney wishes he could say.
Ontario premier says Trump can ‘kiss my ass’ as U.S. president threatens new tariffs on vehicles
Doug Ford may be an asshole, but assholes do serve a vital function.
I dunno I feel like maybe carneys happy with the challenge.
