This was a pretty famous case in the UK.
Im a bit lost on whether to move money into the market or hold cash where so much of what he does feels like the global economy is about to drive into the ditch at high speed.
Move into defensive stocks?
Better than cash at this point due to inflation.
I’m betting a bit on data centers/computer hardware. I figure even if AI crashes and burn, theres going to be a lot of pent up demand by the rest of the economy for computer hardware that was until recently, priced out of their price bracket.
Yeah, 10-15 years ago I could get a pretty smoking server for $3-$4K. Now a bottom of the line AI server is 25-50k.
For the past 3 weeks, IRCC has been doing intake on non-urgent applications received the week of 22 March.
(The r/Canadiancitizenship subreddit has a shared spreadsheet that’s attempting to track progress of submitted applications.)
My guess is that at least 2 months will have transpired before I see whether my application has been accepted for processing (I realized after shipping it that I goofed, because I didn’t realize I already had an IRCC ID number from my work permits), and that it’ll probably be 18-24 months before I get all the way through the process if the application is accepted. (Longer if I have to correct and resubmit, of course.)
EDIT: Apparently IRCC’s systems had a week-plus long crash. Prior to that they were performing intake on non-urgent applications at a rate of just over a week for each week’s applications.
Was playing an online game last night and found out that two of the US people I was playing with are working on getting their Canadian citizenship.
Alberta separatists want to keep their Canadian citizenship even after Albertan independence.

Why would one not want to both have and eat cake?
Easy Rider had one of the best sound tracks ever thanks partially to The Band and Steppenwolf.
2027 will be better for the US given the low 2026 base.
yeah we used to go to Buffalo, michigan nyc and florida. now we don’t go to any of them. we did take a cruise that departed from florida, but we drove pretty much straight there and on the return high tailed it for home as quick as we could. No stopping and shopping.
Years ago I think our public pension plan was struggling long term. There were some shenanigans with an actuary, I forget over what. But I believe it’s now fully funded. So, that’s cool.
Trump threatening to kill CUSMA. US doesn’t need anything from Canada or Mexico.

I guess we can just redirect our electricity, oil, and natural gas somewhere else.
It gets tiresome hearing the same crap repeatedly from Trump.
That post is not an example of canada<>us.
