Caffeine consumption

I’ve tapered from 2 coffees and an iced tea or coke to one coffee. Reducing anxiety and being a bit more patient with my kid are good motivators.

When I worked at an insurer, I was drinking 6+ cups a day.Mostly just a timewaster, a break to go to the coffee machine.
At home, I drink probably two cups a day. One first thing in the morning, one mid-morning.
But somedays I’ll add another one in. Lately I’ve been having a cup of tea in the evening instead.

Cutting down from one coffee to one coke was rougher than expected, should’ve included an intermediate step, hopefully feeling less exhausted soon.

How is your sleep at night?

I go to sleep fine, but wake up too early, so not improved yet.

I wouldn’t think a single coke would be the reason for the sleep issue, especially if you are having that in the morning and falling asleep just fine. You could try some ashwangandha tea in the evening.

Interesting set of results for coffee/tea consumption (and their caffeine content)

I am on the higher end of consumption as well (4 cups/day)

Interesting. That seems significant in a potential treatment for dementia. As in, those neurotransmitters that caffeine binds to likely play a role dementia, or at least the neurochemicals that work in that area of the brain.

I got in two boxes of kcup coffee for free from that amazon program I’m part of. It’s counter intuitive to me that dark roast is lighter tasting than light roast, but here we are in 2026. Anyway the one box is a dark roast. I had a cup today and it was veeerry nice.

The other box is flavoured so that’ll be more of a treat than a daily occurence.
