Breakfast for lunch

That is not fun

I’m in the 'burbs. Gotta go to the big city for brunch. :face_with_monocle: :tophat:

Huh. I always thought brunch was sort of “between breakfast and lunch”, which would make it before noon.

Food. We just call it food.

I barely get up before noon on weekends. In new york we brunch after noon.

I think of brunch as being in the 11:00 ballpark, a late breakfast combined with some early day drinking.

You people get up early on weekends

Yeah brunch is just late breakfast. Time of day can vary imo but generally before noon and no later than 1 or 2 pm. That takes you into Linner territory.

Wrong

Linner is for suckers.

Brunch is typically between noon and 3pm

I grew up thinking brunch was 10:30 or 11. Then i moved to NY, where brunch is at 1. Which is weird, because that’s lunch. But in NY, or at least NYC, “brunch” means “weekend lunch featuring eggs, breakfast breads (pancakes, waffles) and booze”.

The guy who came up with the idea said, “It begins between twelve and half-past”.

Isn’t lunch after noon?

By that logic, isnt breakfast before noon?

Brunch is breakfast food at lunch time often accompanied by a mimosa or other brunchy drink.

… and a meat carving section.

After all these years I have a hard time sleeping in.
