Unfortunately, I think it has everything to do with the letter in parenthesis after the president’s name. Pretty sure the R’s would have pushed back strongly if Biden had committed to nominate a white man.

True the last time they nominated a white male moderate they didn’t even give him a hearing even after a Republican on the Judiciary committee suggested him to the President.

Yeah, the article I saw said the last Justice with prior criminal defense experience was Thurgood Marshall.
It’s an election year, technically, so they have that excuse.
