So Jewish men?
Something something Kanye something…
This story is downright weird for lots of reasons. The more details they trickle out to the public, the weirder it gets.
Sourcing details from the LA Times:
Mentally disturbed freak(admittedly that’s my embellishment) walks into the totally unsecured Pelosi residence with zip ties, hammer, and duct tape
Intruder lets Paul go to the bathroom where Paul calls 911
Time passes
Police arrive on the scene
Nobody has been hit by a hammer yet
Police knock on the door. (Wait, isn’t there an ongoing home invasion with the Speaker of the House’s husband in mortal peril? Why would they knock?)
“Someone” opens the door (Was there another person, or did one of the two men involved in the soon to be revealed mortal struggle just happen to have a free hand?)
Police see Paul Pelosi and Michael DePape grappling with each other, both with a hand on a hammer.
Nobody has been hit by a hammer yet.
Police order both men to drop the hammer - as opposed to shooting or (if they couldn’t get a clear shot) tackling the intruder. (Why did they order both of them to drop the hammer? Did these police officers flunk out of kindergarten teaching school?)
Paul lets go of the hammer and DePape hits Paul in the head, injuring him.
And there is no footage of anything, no bodycam, no nothing.
This whole thing is incredibly strange. The police really screwed the pooch here if the reported details even vaguely resemble the truth. And if the reported details don’t resemble the truth, then why are they being reported? I’m going to presume the reported details are more or less accurate, because you can’t make this shit up.
So it’s likely DePape is a sick, disturbed individual who is not competent to live out in the wild. But there is no footage of anything? The house of the third in line to the Presidency is broken into, police are called, and no bodycam footage exists? And the intruder is not directly accosted when it is seen that he is (presumably) fighting with Paul Pelosi? It’s simply bizarre.
I’m content to wait for more information. There is no rush to judgment as to what transpired. I’ll wait for the tapes. At least - as long as this story is being held up as something that warrants a national conversation. If it’s a truly private or local matter then let’s keep it that way.
Barack Obama is still reviled, though as Florida Man points out, though he was and is a powerful symbol to everyone, so it’s not a surprise.
The others here I don’t think make the “I want to murder this person” lists.
I would add George Soros too, of course.
And on the right, I don’t think liberals think about wanting to murder anyone besides Trump.
After him, probably Tucker Carlson for being top brainwasher, and then MTG for being top Trump stooge.
The rest I don’t think? the rest really register beyond “dislike”, but I’m not familiar with liberals literally ranting homicidally about strangers. Maybe if I spent more time on twitter…
You forgot a couple of strange details:
Paul Pelosi was charging his cell phone in the bathroom. Who does that? Most people charge their cell phone next to their bed while they sleep.
Broken glass outside the door (was the window broken from inside the house???)
When will the 911 tape be released?
That’s a little unusual, but hardly newsworthy.
In isolation, yes, hardly newsworthy. In totality with some of the other strange details, it seems odd.
And the Pelosi house didn’t have an alarm system that was activated when the intruder entered?
The police weren’t notified until Paul called 911???
More strangeness
My house had an alarm system when I bought it, and we removed it. And not because of cost.
Granted, we are a lot less prominent than the Pelosis, but alarm systems are a pain.
I thought alarm systems are usually for when you’re not at home?
(Admittedly I’ve never had one as I’m positive I’d trip it by accident.)
My understanding is that the SOTH receives death threats on a semi-regular basis. It would seem prudent, at a bare minimum, to have and use a house security system, especially if you live in San Francisco.
But what do I know, I’m just a donkey actuary living a low-profile life in a non-distinct suburb of a non-distinct city in a non-distinct state.
Yeah, actually, ours would not have gone off if someone broke in through a window when we were home, because you need to disable the motion sensor part when you are home, and who alarms every window?
Sure, sure, mild mannered Ranger living an ordinary everyday non-distinct actuary life, DEFINITELY NOT SCHEMING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD.
I agree that normal people don’t do this. Sadly, it seems the Pelosi’s DO need this level of security.
Curses!! SV has uncovered my plot, Moderators, please remove his profile.
I bet he now regrets mentioning that his home is not alarmed.
For that matter, my husband often charges his cell phone in the bathroom.
Hey, maybe we are the Pelosis!
If there is any justice in California, Michael DePape will be released on his own recognizance, and given the option to go to a comfy rehab program where he can prance around campfires buck naked wearing antlers. All he did was break into a house. That’s not even really a crime in California. And the injuries to Paul Pelosi were clearly the direct consequence of evil anti-immigrant police misconduct. The cops didn’t realize that Canadians haven’t had “the talk”, and don’t know to instantly heed all police orders lest they be murdered. Obviously the only reason the evil and incompetent police didn’t open fire on this hapless immigrant was because Paul Pelosi was in the line of fire.
Curious, why does he do that? I’m sure you’ve never asked him. But please do. I’m curious
