The long standing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan is heating up. Border skirmishes are currently happening, with varying reports on the level of intensity. So far it is getting little recent media coverage.
I find it more concerning than most regional conflicts, largely due to the alliances each country has developed. This could turn into a nasty proxy war. Also, the EU is depending on its deal with Azerbaijan to help wean itself off Russian fossil fuels.
