Normally I’d agree, but I have been at a conference that’s three days of hard driving from home, and I have plans for Friday night.
If high speed rail were an option, I’d go for that. But it’s not, so…

I was at the grocery store in the check out line. A woman walked up behind me with two items. I hadn’t started unloading my cart yet so I let her go ahead of me. She forcing up and didn’t have enough money for her two items. So she tried paying the rest with a card which was declined. Then she tried to get one item removed and the cashed a super hard time backing out one item. After about five minutes of back and forth, it finally ended when the cashier was able to remove one of the two items.
They’re all verifying that your cover sheet will be placed on the TPS report tomorrow
The new one… did you GET the memo?
It’s just that we’re using new cover sheets on the TPS reports now.
We’ve been without power for over 25 hours due to the bomb cyclone windstorm. The power came back on across the street, but we’re still out, potentially until Saturday. I was proud of myself for charging my laptop and power banks ahead of time, thinking I could use my phone as a hotspot for an evening Zoom meeting. Unfortunately, some cell towers were also down, so internet on cellphones is spotty and slow, so I drove to a friend’s house for power and internet for a couple of hours.
At least no trees fell on the house.
The fire alarm in my apartment went off for about 30 seconds at 2:45 am. Just long enough to get me out of bed, fully awake, and unable to fall back asleep.
This is going to be a rough day.
We’re heading up that way this weekend. Hope the power is back by Sunday. Also crossing our fingers that the 5 stays open near the Cal/Ore border. Could be a miserable drive otherwise.
Actually, you won’t. They know they should have jobs to earn money but are more or less financially illiterate and uninterested. Thankfully they don’t spend much especially my son, they mostly save. Ryan has $90K in his checking account, can’t even be bothered to open a CD.
Man, kids and their icky viruses. And the sharing of them.
One smoke detector that decided to start chirping at 2 AM this morning… and then its sibling at 6 AM.
Another windstorm is predicted for tomorrow night. Still no power at home.
BIL is driving down to Portland today to get another generator. Their house battery doesn’t like the one they already have. Hope it all gets fixed soon.
It’s NEVER just one!!!
It’s never the one you’re standing under.
was hungry at 10 am, started snacking on lunch, finished everything by 10:45. Now it’s 1:30 and I’m hungry again.
We recently entered into an arrangement at work where some of the money going to doctors is capitated (called ACO Flex). Cool. Except we have decided to take that capitated revenue and basically unwind the cap, and pay everything fee for service. It’s complicated, but go for it.
I’m now being asked if we can offer capitated revenue to practices. Like, we have that and you dismantled it. This is just ACO Flex with extra steps.
Time for “second lunch”
I don’t think he knows about second lunch.
McD changed their straws. The new ones are clear (so you won’t see straw pollution?) and are a lot thinner, to the point that the x on the cup lid is strong enough to collapse the straw, even when the x is “pre-opened”.
wait, that’s a thing? tell me more!!!
