Annoyed Thoughts

Unsolicited advice: get recommendations from people you trust for a good dentist/hygienist/practice. Ignore the restrictions of “dental insurance”. See a valued dentist instead of random dentist #217 from a list.

i tried that. the places with recommendations were not taking new people for like 8 months. I will take one of those time slots and also the first available from Dr. 217, DMD and play it out.

Canadian Tire has Golden Harvest 1 L 12 count for $17.99, or are you splurging on Bernardin???

I looked yesterday and they were 25 im sure. Now they’re showing 20.

My soda stream appears to have died today. It was acting a little odd for the last couple of days.

That made me search here, as I remember posting when we got it

I have really enjoyed it. It’s cut out a boatload of buying and then recycling bottles/cans. However, 2+ years is a disappointing life span for a device this simple.

Ours is still working fine after 1.5 years. Now I’m kinda nervous about the next 6 months.

F***ing HVAC. The system was installed in Oct or Nov of last year, this is the first summer. We’re up to TWELVE service appts now, over the weekend I thought I fixed it myself after reading the manuals for the heat pump, furnace, and thermostat. I did manage to fix the airflow issue that they couldn’t fix but I guess something still isn’t quite right.

I called yesterday and asked the owner to call me, and he did not. The tech came out and did… something, but I was on calls when he left so I don’t know what’s up. My wife asked him to call me, and he did not. After he left, I noticed that it wouldn’t reach full speed, and went into the service menu on the thermostat to find he had restricted it to stage four (out of five).

I’m done. I called the manufacturer today (Bryant) and told them we’re at twelve appts so far, and I don’t have the time or energy to keep this up. I asked them to get the engineers on the phone, and send the best heat pump tech in the state of Kansas out here and fix it or replace it or whatever they need to do, but do it promptly. The agent I spoke to was shocked when I told her twelve visits, I think it’s a record.

False alarm. I decided to try to diagnose the problem, and found that my wife had not installed the CO2 bottle properly. It’s working fine now.

step 1: get wife

Aha, I see what I’m doing wrong.

Phew. I think ours should work fine for a while.

I’m um on a um zoom presentation. Um this um lady needs um help with putting um words together without um relying on disfluencies.
I take umbrage with her presentation for only that reason.

Got excited because I got an email from FedEx saying the last package I need for this baby quilt I’m working on would be arriving today. Clicked on the link, and it just departed the seller’s state this morning and hasn’t even been scanned in at my city yet, so there’s no way it’s actually getting here today. Boo.

FedEx has surprised me before. I am in absolute awe of that organization.

But that does seem like it might have been generated based on some estimated delivery date that was generated before they had the item in their possession.

Report back!

went to contact a colleague bc a client needs actuarial support (I’m not a consultant). that person has left.

contacted another who I presented with where the topic was well-covered by them. OOO reply for return early August.

contacted their manager to ask the same. that person is OOO until late July.

At this pace up the reporting chain I will get to the global CEO and maybe someone will be in the office this week.

Power just went out here, likely due to current thunderstorms in the area. It’s too hot for no power.
