I appreciate that the US wants to close the land border for a bit tomorrow to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11…but I do wish I had learned of this before I decided to drive home a day early, having satisfied the objectives of my trip to Ontario.

I saw a notice that they’re going to close the border for about a half hour, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the two WTC strikes, the Pentagon strike, and the Shanksville crash. Essentially a moment-of-silence thing, except longer.
Admittedly, the notice I saw was in regards to the Detroit/Windsor-area crossings; but I assume that if those crossings are being temporarily shut, I don’t want to get to any of the Buffalo/Niagara crossings until that time window has passed, and traffic has had time to clear.
(Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad at the Whirlpool Bridge crossing, since that’s NEXUS-only.)

I get the desire for a moment of silence. Closing a border with Canada for a half hour just seems an odd way to do it.

Had to cut a bit of mold off a piece of Grana Podana that was in the fridge! I wrapped the remainder and threw it in the freezer!
Just ate a pizza fresh sauce from the garden tomatoes and peppers, personally hand tossed crust, fried eggplant topping and garden fresh garlic and basil. I could have used some good cheese, (only had feta).
