Annoyed Thoughts

It’s very possibly carry some baggage from my first marriage where my ex husband was never held accountable for anything, and it became my problem to fix after we got married (he held it together while we were dating).

I didn’t sign up to be his parent, and I have a lot of resentment for all the people along the way who enabled him.

Lol. I had one kid, and only one, that was ever really a problem. I think spoiled, oblivious and a bit arrogant. I found out later he was also a bit older, like an alumni and late 20’s. He was always a man child, overtly causing mild problems.
The last trip he came with, not only was he just being an idiot, I specifically said ‘dont do that’. And…he did it anyway. I didn’t say anything, but no way was he coming on another trip.

Also, one night he drank all my beer. Which pissed me off. I bought beer not for me, but for a couple that were always up at the campsite. I always invite them for a fish fry with the students and wanted to offer them a beer. We have the fish fry, and had no beer to offer.

Anyway, maybe that guy was your ex lol.

Most of the kids I meet are cool. Some of them are just…I dunno, people im amazed to meet? This one girl I took camping a couple weeks ago, she’s something. Inspiring to meet people like that. A goa indian but from kenya, now going to school in canada. Introduced me to some afrobeats :).

How do you break a fishing rod? The only time I’ve ever broken a rod is when I closed my car door on it accidentally.

They can break if you have a snag and keep yanking on it with all your strength while im standing there saying hang on, hang on, hang on, just let me…Ok then. So that’s one way I’ve seen it done.

What type of line are you using? 80# test on a small rod?

My flight yesterday left 4 hours left due to mechanical problems. Got home super late.

Flying is for suckers.

Look on the bright side: the nose gear on your plane didn’t collapse in front of the gate..

The example was from one of my favourite perch fishing rods, so lightweight. A lot of othter times it’s just getting jammed about or stepped on.

Stuff just happens when there’s a dozen excited students mingling about.

Rookies!

I was fishing off the beach this weekend. Caught 2 nice bluefish that I sold to a couple guys for $40.

Paid for my beer and tackle plus profit for the day.

(I’m a surf fisher. I don’t really freshwater fish. One of the perks living 7 mins from he ocean.

Oceans are for suckers.

Oceans rule, freshwaters drool, bro.

My idiot neighbors are at it again.

Utilities were marked in several yards. Apparently at&t is installing fiber internet in our area. Idiot neighbors who already complain anytime the local cable company internet hiccups for 30 seconds are now furious that they were not notified by the utility company and one says he will pull out all the flags tomorrow for failure to notify him.

Ffs, it’s a utility easement you dipshits, they aren’t violating the law, but you very likely are by pulling the flags out causing a danger to the workers and neighbors.

Not to mention you all were wishing we had more than one internet option…

Maybe this should be in the US vs Canada medical thread. I have had a pacemaker for over a year now. No issues, but I do have checkups with the cardiologist every 6 months, next scheduled August 20. Got a text that he’s out of the office that day, please call to reschedule. Called that nyunber today, got the facility scheduler. She couldn’t give me a new appointment until November. Seems not good, but leaving lots of open slots for potential resheduling would not be good either. She’s going to have the cardiologist’s personal scheduler call me to see if they can do anything sooner. But since they presumably are rescheduling several patients, not just me, not looking good. Fortunately, everything seems to be going fine. I have a vague recollection that after this appointment, if all still fine, he would be changing to annual checks.

FIFA World Cup only happens every four years and the Canadian team has several of their best players injured. So frustrating given they are a host country and may have otherwise advanced to the knockout round.

Fortunately I also like the England team which should survive a few rounds.

Need to beat Qatar bigly, tie one of the other two, lose by one goal to the third, for a third-place advance.
Need to beat up the wimp of the Group more than the other 3rd place teams beat up their wimp.

Tomorrow against Bosnia will reveal a lot.

Just spotted this in a LinkedIn post by Arlene Dickinson about forced retirement at 65:

"Actuarial math asks at what age is it statistically efficient to retire someone in order to save the pension funds money. "

Of all the months they could do this internal audit decided to audit a major process that we run in June.

I really want to punch something today :frowning:

My workload just doubled.
