We made it to Tuesday this week.
I’d like a ham and cheese Whamlette, an order of Wham fries…
Sorry, we stopped serving breakfast…
I ran into this this winter, as I had rotator cuff surgery and couldn’t clear snow myself. I discovered that businesses near me who do this (pretty much the landscaping companies) do annual contracts and are booked before the season. Most didn’t even bother responding when I tried to contact them.
You are better than this..
My rule is no beers before 10AM, unless you are still drinking from the night before…
Turns out, I am not. As I noted, I got over ever doing anything for this guy when I was laid up with a fractured vertebrae, my wife and 10yo son were stuck shovelling the driveway, and he fired up the snowblower and just did his driveway and sidewalk. After some years of my doing his driveway every single time it snowed.
Pepperidge farm might forget, but SL remembers.
A few of my neighbors don’t understand that gas leaf blowers go in the same category as lawnmowers and there are times of the day that using them makes you look like a dipshit asshole.
Gas anything. I’ll use my electric leaf blower whenever I want. But when I need to clear snow, I’ll wait until 9AM before I fire up the snow blower. Same with the mower.
Dagnabit.
I just recorded a 20 minute AI training video. Listened, and the volume is way down. No obvious reason.
So, I spent another 20 minutes and re-recorded. Listened, same problem.
Put my hand up to my headset. I had the mic flipped up. Duh.
Guess I’m doing it again.
As least you have had practice.
Ordered an NPR t shirt six days ago and it’s still not here. Which is probably normal, and I’m just used to two day shipping being common. Eh.
I had some soreness in my upper back this week, by yesterday it was feeling pretty good. Went to bed, woke up this morning, now my lower back is out of whack, oof.
I have been wrestling with a 103-104 degree fever for the past five days. Had a terrible night last night so headed out to Hospital Emerg about six am.
Quick attention. After a plethora of tests they diagnosed it as pneumonia plus severe influenza.
That means a further six hours hooked up to an IV but no bed. My body needs a bed, not a chair!
Gosh! Hang in there.
This years dominant Influenza strain has been pretty potent.
I rolled out of bed on the wrong side of the bed today. It happens every few years, I recognize when it happens and generally just recognizing it makes the problem go away.
This morning however, before I could really get settled, I had a rushed meeting with an ad sales guy from Google. And he just completely pissed me off. An hour of my telling him I refuse to continue doing what he’s asking, I’m doing this instead.
- Well, hang on, how about I show you this instead?
- That’s fine, I’m not doing that though.
- Well, how about this?
- That’s fine, also not doing that. I’ve spent 10’s of thousands if not 100k in the last year doing that stuff, we just tried spending more money again for the last two weeks and the same results. So, stop.
Told him we’ll meet in six weeks, I said this 4 times. Told him that again, he says lets meet every two. FFS, no. Dude, I’m in sales, and when someone says something emphatically once, OK if you want to suggest a reconsideration. But the second time they say something emphatically, it’s over. Stop. Just, stop.
Figured I’d go have a workout. Spouse is using the gym. Sigh. I guess I’ll go make a coffee and try and decompress.
tl’dr don’t any of you nerds be calling me today. You won’t get a pleasant reception lol. I’m somewhere between bitchy and whiney. (Serena you can call if you need
).
I had a leisurely start to my WFH day. Then I remembered I have two Zoom meetings this afternoon.
The day continues. I just told my admin person to email a life company and ask for a fillable version of the pdf. WTF is this 1956 bullshit.
Man I am cranky.
Probably said about six times, “Hey boss, we have to make sure that the task accounts for X”
Yeah, sure, it will in the end, don’t worry about it.
After hours and hours of work, we’re at the end
We need to change this all to handle X!

Someone didn’t bother to follow instructions, which has created a slowdown for several people, as well as generated additional work. There’s a reason for instructions, people!
