i have a charger that is corded and I have a cord long enough to reach the car in the street. in fact I charged it in january. but then no use and a 10 day cold snap dragged it back to 0. also, bc of a large project at the home we have no usable garage and room for 2 vehicles in the driveway. I put the 2 (mine and wife’s) that start in the driveway
In the continuing dryer saga, the eBay part that arrived today was a refrigerator drawer and not a dryer control panel. However, it looks like the seller figured it out & shipped another package out yesterday.
I broke out the chainsaw. It’ll take some time to cut it and split the wood but it’s doable. The worst part appears to be the root ball, it tore up some gravel and it’s got some big roots. That may be the worst part of the job.
Reciprocating saw with a long blade for the roots. Much easier than chain saw.
Easier to use, and with all the dirt I’d rather ruin a cheap blade vs tearing up my chainsaw teeth. I like it.
This is the way.
Still don’t have my car back.
I dropped it off early on Monday. They didn’t get a look at it until Tuesday, and of course then no warning lights were indicated at all. They were able to see that many codes had tripped after looking in the computer. Since so many codes tripped, it took them a little while to sort through it. They found that some ABS/Wheel position sensor was not working on one of my rear tires. It’s possible, but not certain, it might have caused the issue. They had to order the part from VW, and it arrives sometime tomorrow.
Best case is that it gets fixed tomorrow and that’s the end of it. If the part arrives late in the day they’ll get to it on Monday. Fingers crossed that that’s all that needs to happen.
my dog puked in bed last night at 1am. right between the pillows. i put my hand right in it.
I’m trying to do some telephone banking when the system asked for my 3 digit PIN after I entered my card number. When the fluff did they give me a 3 digit PIN???
It was sent under separate cover about a week after you opened your account. It included a coupon for a free 8”x10” portrait from Sears and also a buy three tires get the fourth one free offer.
I’m afraid that if you can’t produce that pin I’m going to have to freeze your account.
I hit 0 to talk to a live person. What am I, some sort of primitive savage???
“ I demand to speak to a bot.” Extra points if it uses the voice of the main character from Daria.
OMG that reminds me of a phone call the other day.
Rep: May have your 4 digit PIN?
Me: FOUR digit PIN? Gosh, I didn’t even remember having a FOUR digit PIN with this account. Maybe … try 1234.
Rep: I’m sorry. 1234 didn’t work. Is there a different four digit PIN you might have used?
Me: I don’t know… maybe 5678?
Rep: That didn’t work either. I can help you reset your PIN.
Me: That’s so weird. I only remember having an 8 digit PIN on my account.
Rep: Oh yes, some of the PINS are 8 digits.
Me: WHY THE GIRAFFE ARE YOU ASKING ME FOR A FOUR DIGIT PIN IF IT MIGHT NOT BE FOUR DIGITS?!?!?!
[silence]
Me: OK, try 12345678. That’s the PIN I remember having on this account.
Rep: Yes, that worked.
While I was making breakfast, my son and his friend changed my music from ABBA to Led Zeppelin and ruined my dance party.
5 hours of driving for a 2.5 hour visit with in laws.
I don’t know, 2.5 hours of driving for a 5 hour in laws visit might be worse.
Well, I’m not sure how they got where they were, but I managed to hit two small rocks with my saw. Had to stop twice to sharpen it. I’m taking a break, nearly got it all cut up except the roots, which I’ve gotten somewhat cleared of dirt.
How can this be? We have tickets to fly to Alaska in June. With a connection including change of plane, a necessity. We intentionally did not choose the earliest connecting flight through that stop, to decrease risk of missing the connection. Today Alaska Airlines told us they had moved us to the earlier connecting flight, without asking. We initially assumed that meant the later flight had been canceled, but no, it still shows up as available for purchase, but only one seat is available, so we apparently could not get back the spots we paid for.
Perhaps my wife was going to complain already, but if she did I haven’t heard the result.
We should be ok, barring severe problems, as our connecting time still is over an hour, but our daughter is coming to the connecting city from Boston. She was also switched, without consultation, and her connecting time is under an hour now. Fine if her first flight is on time, but now with little margin for error
Flying to the Caribbean recently, not on Alaska, both my wife and I lost the locks for our suitcases, even though the locks were TSA approved (which means TSA should be able to get them open without difficulty if necessary for inspection). Maybe TSA opened them and just forgot to replace. Unlikely the Caribbean customs, since they were gone when the bags came to back age claim, and we still had to go through customs (perfunctory). An airline employee? Maybe; as far as we could tell nothing was disturbed, but there was little of value inside.
