This week is taking forever.

Probably because some numbnuts is complaining each and every day about how long it’s taking.

When I left the office yesterday I told someone that I’d see them next week. True, but I’ll also be seeing them two more days this week.

I’ve been known to say “have a great weekend” on a Thursday or “let’s talk about this more tomorrow” on a Friday (No, Direct Report, I am not asking you to work on a Saturday… I’m just an airhead who forgot what day it is.)

We have a few places that charge that fee, my Sonic never has. I think just a few mom and pop joints.

It bothers me less than the restaurants with the mandatory tips. One cafe charges 18%, little strong. The worst is a burger joint, you order at the counter, you have to go to another counter to get your food, and you’re expected to clear your table, and they charge 15%. I haven’t been there in years.

There’s a restaurant I recently went to with a mandatory 20% tip/service fee. It’s a full service place, they are transparent about it, I normally tip 20% anyway for full service, and they’re clear additional tipping is not expected. When presenting the card reader, “no tip” is preselected so one less step for me.

I’d be annoyed with an auto populated tip for anything less than full service.

I would make it a point to have that 15% removed.

Thats simply not on.

We have one place with a mandatory 15% that I will still visit. The food and service is always amazing and I’ll add an additional 5-10% because it’s such a gem. It’s not quite fine dining but kinda close.

I never asked to remove it, I just stopped going. They may have walked it back, it’s been probably two years since I’ve been. Found a burger joint I like better.

She got a call shortly before she had to go back that she was excused. Guy probably took a plea deal.

Do you also tell the drive thru window person “you too” when they tell you to enjoy your meal?

I’ve said that an embarrassing number of times to the front desk employee at the gym when they say, “Have a good workout.”

I was in the middle of listening to music on Youtube when my earphones ran outta juice. Wah. :frowning:

I’ve seen a related thing in quite a few cafes (including one I went to on the weekend). The minimum suggested tip is 18% even though we pick up the drinks from the counter and clean up after ourselves. The only time I’ve seen them clean the tables is at closing time- 5pm.

Probably should press 0 tip every time to make up for all the overtipping.

It’s not ‘suggested’ at my burger place, it’s literally just part of the bill. They do the thing where they ask if you want to add an additional tip. Like, no, I feel like 15% is quite enough for counter service.

Yep, that place would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me.

I have no issue with tipping if you have table service. I may not agree with it every time but it does make some logical sense.

But adding 15% for you doing their job for them is basically them padding the bill at your expense.

The cheek of that is amazing.

I know I’ve done that quite a few times.

Oh, I forgot that when I asked the guy at the window what the deal was with the fee, he immediately offered to remove it, then removed it anyway after I said “no, that’s ok”. I guess I looked and sounded more annoyed than I thought.

I did complain to the company.

My house is falling down! Literally. We have a back room that used to be a three seasons room, it came with the house originally but it doesn’t have a basement underneath it. It’s been converted to a mud room on the main floor, and the top floor is my sewing room and office.

Anyhoo, that part of the house has been settling for a year or so, some boards need replaced and the brick foundation needs repaired. They’re going to prop up the room while they do the repairs. All in we are looking at around $12k for a fix that should last around 50 years.

At least it’s bonus season. And it’s supposed to be a pretty good year for bonuses, too.
