A neighbor planted some bamboo across the street before I moved to my current house. They kept it contained, but it’s very tall and dense on one side of the house. They sold the house, and the new owners aren’t very diligent about their yard maintenance. Shoots have now jumped across the sidewalk into the area between the sidewalk and the street. There are at least 10 today I’d guess, all still small. Their neighbors have immaculate landscaping and so far have managed to beat it back from taking over their yard. I imagine they may be annoyed.

I assume the shoots can’t cross the street to my side.

After googling whether bamboo shoots can jump the street, I’m now getting served ads to purchase bamboo.
