There’s a utility laneway a couple of houses away from me. They dump a crap ton of salt on it even if there’s no snow on the way!!!

What is a utility laneway? Why is it paved/concrete?
It’s some big water pumping station. All sorts of city workers come in and do God knows what. Without the lane it would be pretty much inaccessible to vehicle traffic.
OK, so like what I’d call a driveway (or private road depending on how long it is) to a public works facility. Hadn’t heard the term “laneway” and didn’t know if it had some specific meaning.

I miss my stand-up desk at home. Sitting on a wooden chair in a kitchen with a pillow for cushioning and the kitchen is a tile floor just … isn’t cutting it.

my stove is NOT working! sometimes it gets testy and i give it a day or so and it starts working again. my mother lights a match when that happens at her house and that solves it, but i think i’d like to avoid setting myself on fire.
so now i need to get take out.
