Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

Sounds exactly like what I’ve got.

Due to sinus congestion my teeth hurt, my forehead hurts, my ears hurt, and my eyes hurt and are constantly watering

Just tested positive for the Rona. Something about European travel got me both times.

Sorry, hope you feel better soon.

Actually, as i lay awake because my throat hurt so much i couldn’t sleep, it occurred to me that my sinuses are oddly clear. (plenty of goo in the throat, and i have a cough.) So I made an appointment at a CVS minute clinic for “upper respiratory care”. Maybe I’ll get lucky, and it’s strep, and antibiotics will clear it up.

Best wishes, Arthur. Are they still handing out paxlovid like candy?

I haven’t bothered to check about Pavloxid.

For me, 2022 COVID was sore throat/ post nasal discharge for 2 or 3 days followed by a cough later.

This one is sinus so far.

Also had no fever or chills in 2022. This time I had some chills yesterday. Temperature was slightly elevated at 99.4

Just make sure you don’t end up with Pavlovid. :upside_down_face:(Take a dose every time you hear a bell.)

Side effects include watery mouth and hunger pangs and an itchy feeling that can only be subdued by your foot. Ask your veterinarian if Pavlovid is right for you.

My company has everyone who is married/in a domestic partnership whose spouses/domestic partners are covered under their benefits plan to confirm their beneficiaries’ eligibility every three years. This means proving I’m still married, and the first time I did it, I had to also prove my son was my son, and my husband’s son was his son.

I understand why they do this, but it’s always in the December through January time frame when I have a lot of other things going on and it always slips my mind until close to the deadline.

I hope my documentation is satisfactory. One of the options was the first page of my tax return within the last two years, but it’s just the PDF version from TurboTax, not any official copy from the IRS or anything.

WTF? You have to prove that you did NOT get divorced or become a widow? How bizarre! I’ve never heard of that / never had to do that.

Correct. One of the options is simply an affidavit that you both sign, so it’s not like the hoops are too cumbersome or anything, but it’s certainly an annoyance.

I wonder how worthwhile this process really is for them. They’re paying Alight to administer this process, everyone who has a partner on their benefits plan (so I imagine at least 40% of the workforce) is solicited every three years, so that’s probably at least 3,000 letters every year (22k full time, non-contractor employees). How often do they catch fraud or even just mistakes as a result of this? Is it worth the price tag?

Yeah, I would not be willing to commit fraud for an ex… how many people are?

I do know a gal who was separated from her husband for maybe 20 years without actually getting divorced, in part to help him out and keep him on her insurance. But that wasn’t fraud… they were still legally married.

Why doesn’t he just start the process in the basement.

of like your other thought: “Hey, honey. Heads up, I’m gonna be recording my speech for a little while.”

I had to provide a copy of our marriage license at some point when my wife’s employer was checking up on marital status for health plans. However they only did that once.

I went to the deli for some Xmas stuff. Teeny tiny parking lot was full, so I had to park one street over.

Because nothing says Xmas like a nice salami?
