Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

Then I don’t understand. I buy a 1 year bond for $10K. At the end of the year I have $10,300.
NExt, I buy a 2 year bond for $10k. I sell it at the end of they first year. The value of the 2 year bond, after the first year, is $10,300. Same as in scenario 1.

I’m probably missing something stupid. Which is OK, that happens.I’m not as smart as most folks,I just make up for it by studying a bit longer lol.

A $10K zero coupon bond matures for 10K. You pay 10,000 / 1.03 for the one-year bond. You pay 10,000 / 1.03^2 for the 2 year bond. You pay more for the one-year bond. With either (assuming interest rates behave as expected by the implied forward rates), your profit is 3% of the amount invested.

Ah…theres the difference!. I think either i misread the question, or more likely, transcribed it here incorrectly so we are answering different things. I guess we will know in a week or two. I didnt want to cut and paste the question exactly.

Yes, SW and I were using the convention that zeros are normally purchased at a discount to par, and par being a nice round number. Bonds with coupons are typically recorded as if bought at par, with any difference called discount or premium going into a separate bucket.

I accidentally initiated Cortana. Now the damn thing won’t go away.

I noticed my phone bill was high. I went to look at the online bill but it won’t load. I tried a chat but I think I just got a bot. It kept asking me the name of the fee I was questioning. I kept saying I didn’t know bc I couldn’t see the bill. Finally I said yeah, sure, send me a survey, which I filled out with all low scores. I did finally remember why my bill was high. We replaced my daughter’s phone through their insurance and I think there was a deductible which was added to the bill.

Still it would be nice to verify that.

That stinks. Sorry.

I just read what i posted here and the original question. I think i attempted to generalize here and ended up posting nonsense. No wonder everyone looking at this like wtf.

Sensitive skin is annoying. I had an echo yesterday and have red marks from the EKG patches.

I’m allergic to the adhesive they use for those patches, and request the special ones with a different adhesive. No more red itchy patches.

Usually the EKG patches don’t bug me. However, the last time I had one I did have an allergic reaction to the adhesive. I had red squares on me that itched like crazy for days

just FYI, we look at all your posts like that.

Well, not true, but still funny.

it’s more common IRL. I’m either a source of entertainment, or serve as a warning to others.

I first noticed it when I had blood tests, and I got this nasty rash under the bandage, with healthy skin where the cotton ball had been.

The funny thing is that I’m fine with every brand of drugstore/supermarket bandage i’ve ever tried.
