I am annoyed with the body shop who will not give me very good information on when my car may actually be ready.
I am also annoyed with the car rental. I need to extend my rental. I looked at the cost to just return it and then rent a new car, and want to extend instead unless it is a lot more. When I tried to extend it online, their system said it was down, and to use their chat feature. So, I did that, and the agent quoted me the total if I extend. I asked her what my current balance is so I can understand the incremental (and compare to the fresh rental price). She said she did not have that information.
This is Avis, not some small place, and their system does not have that information? I then asked her, ok, how would I find out that information, and she did not really know. I should have been more organized and have known the balance, but I already extended once by phone, and they have charged some already, so it is not in any one place. It did not occur to me that they would not have that information readily available.
Moral of the story: do not run into a deer with your car, it costs money/time/frustration.
2X27" monitors on both my work and my school computers. Anything less would be annoying.
I use them both all day on my work computer. Not so much on my school computer. For the school computer I’m mostly just reading notes or watching lectures, no multi-tasking.
I was going to smoke some lamb ribs today, so I pulled them from the freezer Wednesday. Went to start my prep, and discovered I didn’t pull them out after all. Instead I accidentally grabbed a big bag of nuts.
OK, at least the direct $ works out, with one very minor surprise.
I put the deposit on one credit card, a card we use for internet transactions fearing there’s a slightly larger risk it will be hacked. When I checked in, I gave them a different card with a better reward structure. They said they would put the whole expense on that.
The first night’s charge, which I believe I was committed to paying before I even checked in, for not canceling it 24 hours in advance, is still on the first card. The rest is on the preferred card.
I’m watching some travel show set in some city in Europe.
The host is with some old guy & they both have a bucket of bird food & they’re feeding a plague of pigeons.
The last thing this world needs is more pigeons. There’s no need to encourage their proliferation…let alone their survival.
That reminds me of a story I read in the Minneapolis Star Tribune a long time ago…the MPLS are has a “geese problem” so the DNR or some such agency was “harvesting” them. Of course, any good journalist writing a story will attempt to “get all sides” and so they had a quote/statement from someone stating that this won’t help solve the problem since they reproduce quickly or some such reason. I’m thinking, “So, you’re telling me that you’ve found a perpetual source of food? That’s amazing!”
I went back home a day early this week so I could hunt geese for a day. The whole day, zero geese fly over.
I get home the next day, my sister sends me this, taken out her front window.
There’s a lady walking in front of me to get to the chikkin place, She waltzes on though the door and doesn’t even look back or attempt to hold the door for me.
She could have been immortalized in the Insignificant Signals thread, but she lost that deal!!!
Now the spammers are on peloton. My daughter has a subscription and she set up an account for my spouse to use on our spinning bike, using my info. Today I have a new follower. I don’t know this ‘person’ and they’re not wearing any clothes.
Just stop.
