I have a sister that often uses iMessage to contact me. I don’t have an iPhone, and use my iPad sporadically, so often I don’t get her messages in a timely manner. I’ve repeatedly asked her to message me either via text or whatsapp, but she never does. Our iMessage string is basically me replying every time asking her to use other ways to message me
You might be able to disable iMessage completely. If you don’t use iMessage at all, i think it sends an SMS, instead.
But i have this problem with Facebook messenger.
So. The doctor I saw for my ankle last week is NOT on my insurance. They don’t file any insurance at all other than Workers Comp. I know this bc I called to give them my insurance info now that I have an official letter saying it’s not covered. So I looked at the letter I got last week when I messaged to see if he was in network and it states that a doctor with the same name in another state is covered. Nice. I guess they asked the address of the local dr just for fun.
I have emailed the slow person in my HR dept asking what I need to do since it’s not covered by WC and not in network under our company’s insurance. I expect to hear from her in a week or so since I am not going to hound her for an answer. I really don’t care unless or until I get a bill.
Meanwhile I was able to get a follow up appt with my daughter’s doctor but not until Dec 27. Since my foot doesn’t hurt much right now I’ll just deal with it. I do still have a giant lump by my ankle (spoilered for the squeamish)
This reminds that my mother is constantly texting my email address, even on group texts. I think this is both an old person and an iPhone issue. Old person because she doesn’t notice and iPhone because it offers up all numbers and email addresses as options and if you aren’t posting attention it isn’t too hard to pick something that don’t make sense.
A different sister sometimes emails my old aol address. I haven’t had an aol address since the 90’s
I’ve had immense trouble trying to get gmail and thunderbird to forget email addresses.

Insurance company doesn’t have an API, because none of them do. so they give us a test system. Fine. We spend six months building out an interface using the test system.
Yesterday we go live and start pushing data into the live system. Everything breaks.
Turns out the test system isn’t the same as the live system. Not even close. Not only is the data not the same, some of the data fields aren’t even the same. Like, there’s surprise new data fields.
I’m annoyed. My programmer seems to be actually pissed.
And I’m out of office til Friday morning.
And my contact at HO is on vacation.
Added: so I just pushed some data into their system manually. What is this, an api for ants? or something. At least I got that out of the way before breakfast today.

January 2, 2023 is a holiday for most folks, since January 1 is a Sunday. Maybe she meant specifically 1/3/2023???
Note to self: Don’t ask people to document the things they give you. Just ask for the documentation. Very frustrating asking for the documentation later and, shocker!, it doens’t exist.

Note the “Upon consumption”. So I checked out around 5:30 AM this morning (qualifying as an Annoyed Thought in itself, but letting me get a nonstop flight home). Said it was OK to get my copy of the receipt by e-mail, so he sent it as soon as I said that. I then pointed out I wanted to know what was on it, so he printed a copy. It included

Yes, I got charged for a bottle of water even though I had carefully removed the price tag warning to photograph it and carefully replaced it. I find it amazing that they detected that the label had been moved. They could have a pressure sensor for the bottle having been lifted up, could they? The bottle itself was never out of the room, nor could anyone have seen the bottle with the label off, since I replaced it immediately after photographing.
So I asked to have the charge removed and he said he would remove it. Since I know the factual situation, it strikes me an a really flagrant attempt to overcharge, but with the charge removed, OK.
So what’s the further issue that may make it a very annoyed thought or an extremely annoyed thought? Now, over 10 hours later, I still haven’t been e-mailed a corrected bill, so have no record that the charge is being removed. Even worse, looking my pending credit card statement, the pending charge is considerably more that I expect the charge would be even with the water. I’ll see what the final credit card charges are before I make any complaints.
Been sending mail back to Regence Health for a guy who hasn’t been here for over 4 years. Actually his daughter lived here and she got his mail.
I sent a few things to her early on (my neighbor is friendly with her).
Called them today. (I call like once a year or so)
“Hey, we keep getting mail for this guy who hasn’t been here in ages.”
“Sorry, there’s noting we can do.”
“You mean you’ve been getting returned mail for this guy, and I’ve called probably half a dozen times and you will continue sending him mail you know he’s not going to get?”
“That is correct.”
“Well, if you have a phone number or email you should let this guy know he has to change his address.”
“There’s nothing we can do, sir.”
“Thanks for nothing.”
It’s my understanding that is SOP in the hotel business .
They’ll release the hold after they figure out the final amount to bill you.
