Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

Well, different strokes. My daughter and spouse are very close, good friends, they’re together at least weekly. And if my daughter is driving an hour for a specialists appointment that’s going to eat half a day, and my spouse is self employed, they can drive together, have lunch, hit a mall, and my spouse can sit with them in the waiting room. I see it as fortunate that we have this lifestyle, not too much.

Going and sitting in the waiting room: sure.
Going into the session with the doctor, as I interpreted your earliest post: a bit much, IMO.

Now even more annoyed. This one was just “Suggested for you”

No complaint about it showing up (though not nearly funny enough for me to post in “Funny and SFW”, but does it have to come with that label?

I don’t think my spouse does that. My daughter is self confident and a quasi medical professional so she’s quite independent.

Similar issues in my county on prior items. A day is booked, but no time. On one occassion it got bumped to the next day because they were busy and no one told me or the contractor. They just never showed.

I only got to here before I had to take a pause and wonder what kind of crimes were committed.

I was having trouble connecting to Wi-fi at sbux (not my usual sbux). The barista was pretty much unhelpful with some half-hearted explanation.

She could have earned a place in the Insignificant Signal thread, but she lost that deal!!! :-1:

I hope it stops at some point. Not being concerned and involved in my kids’ lives, but this overriding worry triggered by a phone call…

I would, however, 100% choose the call and the extra worry over no call and a casual mention, maybe, sometime down the line. I’m glad she called. I just wish my body and mind’s reaction was a tiny bit less :oh_noes::oh_noes::oh_noes::oh_noes::oh_noes:

Well, maybe the anxiety. But being involved? I don’t think you (or I) need to apologize for being there for our kids. And I bet they’re more than happy to have you there - people at 25-30 are still really comforted by having mom/dad show up on a lot of stuff.

“Your wait time is expected to be between 28 and 38 minutes. If you would like us to call you back press ‘1’”

“We will call you back on [phone #] when it is your turn in line.”

–30 mins later–

ring, ring

“Hi, this is Verizon, please press ‘1’ when BG is on the line.”

“1”

“All of our representatives are assisting other callers. Please hold on for the next available associate.”

YOU called ME! How can you not be available?

Yeah, they seem to call when you get to be first or second in line rather than when someone on their end is actually available. It’s annoying, but I’m assuming that you probably do get to a person at the same time you would have otherwise. So still worth hanging up and having them call back.

My nose whistles when I breathe.

Fortunately, I’m a team player and my pants don’t swoosh when I walk. Also, I’ve never turned down a bite of chocolate cream pie.

If you could get it to whistle in harmony while you sing, that would be impressive.

Trader Joe’s doesn’t have bacon wrapped scallops in yet. I hope they’ll be appearing soon.

They’ve been out of frozen mashed potatoes forever. I might have to actually peel potatoes this Thanksgiving. :grimacing:

The fan family is going out to dinner so nobody has to peel potatoes

Boxed ftw.

Just got back from a gun show. What an affair. Posters of the pm and how he’s stealing our guns, newspapers being distributed full of nonsense.
I’m gonna have to check myself for ticks it was so backwoods.

All I wanted was a bolt ball for one of my old Canadian 22s that I like to restore.

Also annoyed that my son lost the ball in the first place.

I have a tickle in my lungs. I’m not going into the office all week already, and the kids are off school all week, so that’s a relief. If it’s covid, I suspect I was exposed Friday and it’s too early to be tested. I will test Wednesday and Thursday either way, since we are going to Thanksgiving with my family.
