Yikes!
I was making myself a ham sammich for lunch and looking for a condiment. There’s a bottle of sesame mayonnaise I bought just on a whim. When I saw the safety seal bowing out and hearing the little puff of air as I pulled it away, I decided to pitch it in the compost bin. ![]()
I put some horseradish spread on instead.![]()
My stupid keyboard has a tiny “lock your computer “ key just above the “-“ (minus) key.
I happen to be typing a lot of negative numbers today…and also locking my computer. :serenitynow:
Is there a way to disable the key?
Well, I might resort to prying it off.
I’ll have to consult the googly machine. It might know a thing or two about hp.
Waiting on results from some bloodwork in Friday. The last several times I’ve had labs I got the results in 24 hours. For a Friday lab I got results on Sat.
And the website says not to bother them unless it’s been a week or longer. Guess I’m gonna have to exercise my patience muscles. ….

Looks like I’d have to edit the BIOS. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to do that on a work computer.
Also, hp thinks it’s cool to flip the ctrl & fn keys, so maybe I’ll just order a new, non-hp keyboard and be done with it.
Calling ATT wireless. Computer generated voice OK, but after I speak my prompts, there is this fake keyboard noise, the the “guy” is typing something.
Probably more for the “bothers me more than it should” thread, but I found this one first.
That sounds like the safer solution, even though it will take a little while to get the new keyboard.
Come join the dark side with a mechanical keyboard, imo.
Editing BIOs is a bit too far IMO, and I’m a “forgiveness not permission” person. I’ve done it on work computers before when I was a super admin, but we basically had carte blanche with things like that.
Nowadays I’m a bit more conservative. I nearly downloaded some software to hack my PS5 controller and thought, hmm… maybe pull out my own laptop.
And then when you get addicted, start building them yourself. My 60% keyboard gets a lot of attention at work.
For my next hobby I’m going to pick something without time pressure. Which is not the case with degrees.
I’ve got a tough assignment I need to hand in this week to get an extra 10 percent. And way too busy with work and prepping for leaving for a week on Thursday.
Gl next week btw, hope the servers don’t crash!
CHALLENGE: ACCEPTED!
My printer stopped working. The paper consistently jams, if it even gets that far without throwing an error. It’s only 1.5 years old.
PC load letter, what the f*ck does that mean???
I think I might just keep my gigantic pedestal sink. even though I hate it, i’m too indecisive and not knowledgeable enough to replace it with something I will like more.
i really need to fix up my bathroom otherwise and put it off for this. it needs to be re-grouted and the bathtub door needs to have the handles replaced, the entire bathtub glass door cleaned from soap scum, the track fixed cause it doesn’t move, and the kitchen painted and probably the bathroom painted too. this vanity thing was just a decision since i’m doing all that other stuff, but apparently it’s too annoying to figure out. i see why my sister is redoing the bathroom in the place she just bought, but is keeping the vanity and nothing else.
Might just figure out the sink later if I wind up not moving.
Almost all of that can be corrected with an intensive cleaning session, including probably the grout around the tiles. Probably the only thing that needs replacing is the silicone around the tub.
really? i tried using tilex mold and meldew and only some of it came out. not sure what you mean by the silicone around the tub, but the part around the tub is the part that’s the worst.
the handyman said it needs to be regrouted.
