Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

Do Americans drink caesers?

I’ll be waiting for a long time because they canceled both orders.

Shopping for a microwave and it’s immediately apparent that you absolutely cannot interchange a countertop microwave for a built-in or vice versa. So you can filter microwaves on nearly every possible feature… except countertop vs built-in. The one thing that literally every single consumer would need to filter on. :grimacing:

Have seen them on the menu but never been w anyone who chose that over the standard bloody.

I noted it as a Canadian “thing” when it was brought up a lot in the show Leterkenny.

I.figured. It’s all casaers here, nobody does bloody Mary’s though they are similiar.

I had never heard of before Letterkenny. Sounds horrid, but that’s just my opinion.

Just got my son’s Little League Schedule.

Thursdays a 6 PM (not so bad)

Saturdays at 4 PM (so stupid)

There go my Saturdays…

4 PM practice? Psssssht, no biggie. Used to be, I could get up at 6 am on a Saturday, go for a 10 mile run, be back home by 8:30, and study for 3 hours before the rest of the family was even moving.

Getting up at 6:00 a.m. on a Saturday is for suckers.

and those with achievement complexes. No matter how much I “did”, it was never enough for me and I always felt like I wasn’t getting enough done. I guess I look back on that time with annoyance. I’m much more comfortable today letting things sit for a while or letting my to-do list just be there.

What did you do, if anything, to get out of it? I struggle with it, often feeling like I should be doing more. It’s often related to home repairs and renovations these days.

Tried today to recover a very old 401k my partner used to have. Only worth perhaps $4k. We know it was transferred to another company but no idea which one.

To figure it out, needed to call them, get transferred to HR, get verbal confirmation on phone from partner I could handle this. They couldn’t verify any of the addresses we have lived at, so despite having the SS# we couldn’t even be told which company held the 401k.

They sent us a form to update our address (and we were allowed to give them any email address to do this!) but the form they sent is for existing employees of the company and also needs to be notarized and sent by registered mail. Just to figure out which company has our money.

IFYP.

I guess? They asked me to handle it, so I am. But it means they need to verbally confirm it.

I don’t think Marcie is referring to the verbal confirmation required to speak to you. You are trying to get financial information from the old employer so they are trying to establish that you are allowed to receive that information.

Oh sure. That’s fine. I’m just annoyed that they didn’t have any of the addresses we’ve lived at and couldn’t do anything else, then sent us an incorrect form, and I assume the correct form also needs to be notarized… to then go to some other company and probably do the same. It’s approaching not worth it for $4k but annoys me to have that money floating out there forever.

If it is still the same 401k plan, get a copy of the SPD. Often (but not always), if the vested account balance is under $5,000 the plan administrator must make a distribution of the funds. If between $1,000 and $5,000, without instructions from the participant, the account would be sent to an IRA FBO the participant, outside the plan.

The SPD will (should) tell you where that IRA is.
