Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

I used to feel lightheaded a lot, and I’d faint periodically. Mentioned it to my chiropractor simply because I messed up my back when I fainted / fell one time.

He did a blood test (I had no idea chiropractors did that) and told me to start taking these.

My persistent fainting problem disappeared. Every once in a while I’ll feel faint now, and when I do I think about it and realized that I missed taking my vitamins like 3 days in a row. Take them again and feel fine.

It says to take 3 a day, but I only take 2 because I feel fine when I take 2 and I’m a cheap actuary.

Someone else I know got lightheaded & fainted in a store (this was years ago), which led to his being diagnosed with a heart issue, so you might consider seeing a cardiologist.

Bonus to seeing a cardiologist is they can also diagnose/clear you of STDs from your cheating lifestyle. (joking, of course)

My PCP ran a bunch of tests, and came up with nothing and concluded that it was all in my head. (I’m not sure how I can forcibly faint, but whatever.)

This was like maybe 15 years ago? Not exactly sure, but a long time ago. I’ve been fine since I started taking those vitamins.

I had been taking Centrum before that. What my chiropractor told me to do with the Centrum: every day take one pill and walk into the bathroom and drop it into the toilet. Exactly the same impact as swallowing one a day.

What is in the recommended pill that your dr believed would help with the fainting.

Females in my family tend to faint easily when ill (and sometimes when not particularly ill) and some of those fainting spells look like seizures. But those of us who have been tested for various causes have never had any definitive result. I haven’t had this issue in years, but my girls have. It would be nice to be able to prevent this.

I posted a link to it in my earlier post. Just an OTC multivitamin that you can get from Amazon or a bunch of other places.

But (and my chiro claims this is key) a bio available multivitamin. It’s formulated in some fancy way with enzymes that help your body to actually absorb the nutrients rather than just pass them through to your urine, which is what happens with a lot of vitamins. (Some is obviously still going into my urine… it’s noticeably yellower right after I take them. But I guess I’m absorbing enough to make a difference.)

Chiropractor said I was fainting due to a deficiency in… something (I forget). Multivitamin that my body could actually absorb cleared up the deficiency.

Can’t guarantee that it’ll work for your family, but it’s worth a try.

Might be something as “simple” as an inner ear infection. They can take a long time to clear sometimes. A friend had one once and she would vomit if she turned her head too quickly. Funny thing, the inner ear.

I bet you were careful not to startle her.

You do something one time..,

Maybe low blood sugar? I get this way if I don’t eat enough carbs for several days in a row.

“But do they call me ‘JFG, the Lego-necklace builder’? Nae…”

This is one of my theories. I never tested positive for covid but that doesn’t mean I didn’t get it asymptomatically. If I’m still sick when I see my doctor it’s one of the things I’m planning to ask. I wonder if lab tests have antibodies from prior infection as a common test now or if I have to go somewhere special to get that done.

fwiw, I’m part of a COVID-19 study that provides me with antibody results.

Hang on, I’ll try to link to my post.

So I know it’s a thing, the Red Cross has run tests on my donations previously. I just don’t know if that’s a test my doctor can order on the menu when doing all the other tests or if I have to have it done somewhere else.

this is my opener on dating apps I’ve very rarely used. “Hey, do you like dirty jokes? If not, we might not get along well. There was this old man at the bar, drunk and shouting…”

Go on…
