Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

Where you been? Lumber shortages since the beginning of the pandemic.

If only they’d do something useful like eat all the raisins.

Do people still hand out those little boxes of rai-SINS on Halloween??? “Nature’s candy” … :unamused: :face_vomiting:

Oh, wow…I remember getting some of those back in the day…I’d like to think that we live in a more enlightened time now.

I have a coworker (who I generally like otherwise) who takes every opportunity to showcase their intelligence and expertise. I crack a joke about something, they will respond with something along the lines of, “well, in my experience, this market would actually produce something more like…”

It’s a joke. They know it’s a joke. They just can’t back off an opportunity to establish dominance. And I’m annoyed that I care.

I wish I could leave food out on the counter.

My neighbor often throws their garbage off the back deck onto their driveway a story below, dealing with putting it in the trashcan later. I like to enjoy my screened porch, and dropping heavy garbage there is extremely loud and annoying.

Pretty sure it’s their primary way of taking out their garbage and recycling, but maybe it’s just the one I notice because it’s so freaking loud

On the plus side, by hiding the pie in the microwave, I see it less so it lasts longer.

Daddy may have left food on counter. Go check!!!

She can be annoyed with mommy who was a killjoy when I was stripping the chicken.
“You’re going to give her pancreatitis if you let her have too much!”

I just spent 5 hours convincing my health insurance to give me my prescription. The doctor wanted it but they were refusing and I had to make 17 calls to, I think, get it sorted. Hopefully.

They wanted, among other things, proof that I was actively in a disease flare (which the medicine prevents) and a colonoscopy every 4 weeks, bloodwork, fecal samples, urine samples, use of steroids, and more.

At this point, you’re probably ready to crap into a box and mail it to your insurer.

More than annoyed, not to pissed off. Yet. That may happen by Friday.

Go visit Doctor S. S says “hey, I want Doctor K to take a look and see what he thinks, when that’s done I’ll get notes but send me a message on what you’re thinking after you meet with him.” Meet with Doctor K, send Doctor S a message on what I’m thinking like we had agreed upon.

That was a week and a half ago. Still no response from Doctor S, who’s been in the office the entire time and whose staff says “yeah, she did read your message” and who said they would have her call me in the next 48 hours which … we’re now past 48 hours.

Dishwasher started leaking intermittently. Call a guy, he’s booked two weeks out, so I’m hand-washing dishes, cool. He thinks the door seal is leaking, seems plausible, so we run it and watch for leaks. After 2-3 loads I see water dripping, figure out it’s the float switch. Call the guy back, it’s gonna be another two weeks. I can’t decide if I want to keep playing this game, or just order the part and see what I can DIY.

Aren’t there any other handymen in your area?

The one I’d normally call is out because his father is really ill, he recommended this guy. There is one more I could call… but we already paid the guy that came out, and he said that any additional visits within 60 days are free. I know, cheap actuary.

That’s appliance repair shops. There might be a handyman that could do it, but I’m not sure I’d hire someone like that vs just doing it myself.

The connection for my Zoom call this morning was super choppy.
