Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

She will get special attention tomorrow. Not sure how she ended up on the streets, but her life’s been pretty cushy for the last 3 years.

I’m eating a hot & spicy soup. The only drink I have is a hot coffee. I’m going to have to splurge at the highway-robbery-concession stand in our office for an ice cold coc………………a-cola…which I don’t necessarily care for (I’d rather have a :mtdew:), but will settle for. If I’m going to consume those calories, I’d rather it be for something that I really like, right Rocky? …Bullwinkle?

Don’t you have a water cooler? Or a water fountain? Or even just a faucet that offers cold water?

There is that garden hose that I saw Jose using when he was watering the landscaping. I could try that out.

I bet the water is cold.

Sure…if you let it run for a while. :potable_water:

Cheaper than the convenience store

The emerald ash borers have done a real number in my neighbourhood. A few trees have been cut down and more are marked for cutting!!!

That’s sad.

Mebbe we should import some cane toads to eat the emerald ash borers.

But I can’t eat any until tomorrow.

Really, I am curious as to where you are in the US…
In Illinois, all the ash trees basically were killed from about 2005 through 2010. I lost two big trees in my yard, including the one that had my kids’ tire swing. When I saw signs of distress, I had called an arborist to look at them, but when he saw them he told me I was at least a few years too late to inoculate them. The inoculation process isn’t cheap and it needs to be repeated every year, so in actuality, virtually every ash tree in Illinois died.

The 51st state, IIRC.

My company has a formal mentoring program. I sign up every year. The mentee is supposed to be responsible for setting up meetings. This year my mentee had no idea how to do this, and didn’t try even after I showed her. She also never blocks her calendar for anything (like vacations). I had set up a meeting with a couple people bc she wanted to learn about different positions. She asked me to reschedule bc she would be in training. I did so. Then she asked me to reschedule for this week bc her training is 6 weeks long. Um, sorry chick, not only am I out W-F, but one of the 2 people the meeting was with also has a very packed schedule. I told her she is welcome to reschedule the meeting herself at the end of her 6 weeks. Maybe someone will train her on using Outlook!

Calendars are game changers. Like GPS Vs maps.
It took a whe to get my so off of paper over Google calender, now there’s no going back. All our family and business stuff now in one spot, accessible anywhere.

I should have known Canadia by the way you misspelled “neighborhood” as “neighbourhood”.

I am surprised it took the EABs so long to get to north of the border. I guess it was like how the 1980’s were popular in Canadia until the 1990’s.
