Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

Ouch! I’ve had some neck issues from sleeping awkwardly. I wish you a speedy recovery.

I think they are called “a husband”

A Russian-American friend called them that. I’ve always heard them called “wedge pillows”, or something else vaguely descriptive.

I might have said it, someone else might have said it. Worth saying again.

I don’t know when society started starting responses to questions with “so, …” but that can stop right the fuck now. It’s a wasted, useless word that contributes nothing, maybe less than nothing, to the response.

so, ya know, like, I totally understand what you are trying to say, but that is like sooooooo totally irrelevant to, like, most conversations.

Is there a new, more cynical version of Do Re Mi I haven’t heard yet?

This morning I was annoyed bc my earache was gone and I have a doctor’s appt scheduled, and now I’m annoyed that it’s back. At least I didn’t cancel the appt.

Literally!

Chipotle over-filled my burrito. Odd thing to complain about, too much food. But I had to just open it up and eat with a fork.

Henry IV Part 1: Act 2, Scene 1

Now whenever I see someone use EST I’m reminded of the time DTNF corrected me to EDT and am irked they didn’t use EDT. Maybe they really mean EST and now I’ll miss it.

I can’t seem to keep it straight so I just say 3:00 Eastern.

Me, too. I say “3:00PM ET” if I am writing to other people in the US. If I’m writing to an international audience, I may specify that it’s New York time.

When in doubt, use ET. Or just assume that EDT is correct. Daylight savings lasts for 2/3 of the year, after all.

I go with EPT for prevailing time, which I think means whichever is right of ST or DT. At least that is what I tell myself

I would love to be able to say MST, but since AZ is the only state on that time at the moment, it’s easier to say pacific time.
