Amazon Prime series

I’m planning on watching a few series on Amazon prime. I’ll likely start one of these 5 tonight based on what my spouse chooses, but if you have a strong positive opinion on the next one I’m interested. Here are the five candidates:

Britannia
Deadloch
Sneaky Pete
Reacher
Vikings

I might add a poll later if this topic gets more interest.

I hardly find anything on Prime that interests me SEA on TNF excluded.
I’ve tried.
I was doing a “MI” Movie series binge but got stopped when some required payment on top of my Prime payment.
Don’t bother with “Daisy and The Six.” Not on your list but not worth the time.

I’ve only seen Reacher and we enjoyed it. It’s airport novel quality but done well.
Other Prime series I liked - Jack Ryan, The Expanse, Fleabag, The Man in the High Castle, Upload, A Very English Scandal, Forever and Fallout.

Edit: In looking up the term airport novel, Lee Child is mentioned in the wiki article.

I watched and enjoyed The Expanse. I considered Fleabag in my list.

I’ve been wanting to watch Deadloch. Looks like our kind of thing.

I just watched the Rings of Power. It’s pretty well-done. LOTR super fans will undoubtedly be annoyed with some of the choices they made, but overall I thought it was a good addition to the franchise.

Expanse was really good. Makes me want to read the books, because I think there are a few more they didn’t get to in the show.

Reacher Season 1 was fantastic.

Season 2 was not as good I thought.

I really enjoyed Normal People. The Expanse was Good as was Fleabag. Flack is good, but frustrating if they don’t do a third season.

I have enjoyed Rings of Power, and I’m a pretty big Tolkien fan. It is really far away from cannon, so it’s easier to just think of it as something akin to fan fiction and roll with it.

People keep saying how amazing The Expanse is. I watched a few seasons of it, but I never was able to care about any of the characters or the plot. The production value and main premise were good, but I ultimately just couldn’t bother anymore.

I liked Jack Ryan more than Reacher for the action series genre.

We started watching Deadloch and saw the first 2 episodes. It’s a quirky crime comedy show. It made me chuckle a few times.

I am a Tolkien fan and started watching Rings of Power a while back. It didn’t get me hooked and I gave up on it rather quickly. Maybe I should give it another shot.

If the first couple episodes didn’t do it for you, it’s probably not going to be your thing.

Might be worth another try though.

We’ve enjoyed -
the Boys (and Gen V spinoff)
Rings of power
Fallout
Outer range
The expanse
Good omens
the Peripheral
Uploaded
carnival row
Loudermilk

I just finished the 2nd expanse book and not shockingly prefer them to the series (although I also really like the series and think some of the material they created for it is very good)

I’d say I’m a big Tolkien fan having read the Simarillion more than once and several of the other lessor know works. I have zero problems with the deviations, time compressions and character additions they have made in the interest of having a reasonably coherent telling of events over a TV format. I think the show has been well done and liked season 2 better than season 1 though I did enjoy season 1.

The Expanse books are good. I finished the series of them and currently working through the collection of short story / novellas that goes with it. It covers events referenced in the series/books but in greater detail or from a POV not seen in the show.

Loudermilk is on Prime?

I’m watching that on Netflix.

I forget where I watched it but it was on a list of shows available on prime.

Available to rent?
They do a lot of that shit.
Or, “Hey get Netflix and go through us to get Netflix stuff.”
I’ll check it after this simultaneous quadrupleheader.

A couple others:
Good Omens
Hanna (same character as the movie, different actress)

Finished the season. It had some funny moments. Not a top show for me, but it might be in your wheelhouse. Note that many of the main characters are lesbian, so it might be too woke for some. That is not a concern for me at all, either to watch or not to watch.
