The way Musk is framing his pick has a lot of policy preferences layered in it. It’s really fascinating how an unelected person has become very powerful. This is one of the most masterful power plays I have seen. The billionaire club tended to be behind the scenes like the Thomas Clarence thing, now one is in plain sight shaping policy.
