Any reserving actuaries here that have companies starting to/well into to AI claims handling for more complex claims than auto physical damage/property (which has been going on for a while)? I’ve started to see reports of things like AI doing all the claim triages/initial loss reports, and I’m wondering if anyone is anticipating an increase in bad faith claims if this is used to reduce headcount for claims adjusters.
I haven’t seen it first hand, but we did discuss at work reports that apparently Chubb was replacing a lot of claims handlers with AI, so I’m ready with the popcorn

I’m at a single state, costal carrier. The thing we talk about is what happens when the next hurricane inevitably hits? AI can’t do it. Simply can’t replace the people on the ground in those scenarios.
