The choices we have to vote from come from a selection process (i.e. the primary system) based on how the most extreme people in society feel. With first past the post the notion that it’ll work itself out like in a market based system doesn’t end up happening because you fail to fulfill many of the assumptions underlying a competitive market
Um, clearly, they do not, even after seeing how old age does impair a politician. You are assuming too much of voters, a quarter of whom are deplorables.
Honestly, the real issue is a political party finding a suitable replacement, which, I believe, is what Replacement Theory is all about.

I thought Replacement Theory was about being replaced by robots. One day there will be only one person left on this site and all the rest of us will be bots (although I might already be that person).
