Very much this. Hanging with 20-25 year olds regularly is quite an experience.

Like this morning we are turkey hunting and I texted the one guy ‘gib chckns’, like, wheres the turkey. And that’s when I learned ‘nobody says that’.

I’ve also learned to cook halal, why Asians eat dog and smoke, had spicy food from Tunisia and India

I wonder how Asians eat smoke. Is it similar to how pandas eat shoots and leaves?

Nah, but in Korea, you have to do two years of military, so that’s a smoking indoctrination. And in China, you smoke at work under severe social pressure. My one buddy said his dad didn’t smoke, moved to china, and his boss made him come out and take smoke breaks.

Where does it go? And what is it shooting at?

You sound well diversified

A panda walks into a café. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.

“Why?” asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

“I’m a panda,” he says at the door. “Look it up.”

The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

“Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots & leaves.”

Not really, no. But, I also don’t have a ton in common with friends who are significantly older or younger than I am, we are typically friends because of one big interest. The people I have the most in common with are about my age.

I have a lot in common with people on here, because we are all actuaries and generally don’t suck, like a lot of the same tv and general hobbies. I guess my brain reverse engineers it and makes me visualize people on the internet as being similar to me, I dunno.

That was what also what happened to my mother. Fortunately she was physically and mentally youthful to the end and related well to young people. She was especially close to her grandchildren who discussed things with her that they would not discuss with me. That may say more about me.

:TARDIS:

Also, great minds think alike.

There are three stages to a man’s life.

Interesting as this is the exact opposite of my experience

Fair enough. The conversation is more likely who’s worse, not who’s better in this case.
Mind you I know brokers in both industries who are absolute experts. But there’s far fewer of them than just
cordwood.
