Damnit I was just going to make the same joke.
Iâm not the only septuagenarian!
There are dozens of us! Dozens!
I gotta say, the poll suggests weâre younger than i would have guessed. I wouldnât have been surprised if it had shown the median age was in the 50s
Looks like 3 of you have voted.
I have the distasteful tendency of assuming the people I get along with well online are around my age. I have met many people from here and know thatâs not always true, but itâs still my default instinct where Iâm not sure.
Iâm a bit surprised there are that many people active enough in the site to vote. I was thinking 30 or 40 tops.
Huh. Is that true of your friends in real life?
(That tendency doesnât sound distasteful to me, fwiw. It sounds like it might be informed by other things.)
I just presume you all are also 32, unless you say youâre retired
I consider ± 15 to be âmyâ age.
I think adults come in only a few ages:
- Still in college
- Starting out
- Settled, job, pre kids
- Have kids at home
- Never gonna have kids
- Kids grown
- Retired, still healthy
- Elderly
That doesnât cover everyone, but it covers substantially the majority of people i interact with socially. And within any of those categories, eh, weâre kinda the same age.
I currently have friends in all of those categories.
I would hope that as you age you do not continue to feel that way. One of the things I like about GoActuary is that most folks are much younger than me and have different life experiences to share. Would hate it if everyone else here was a boomer.
My grandmother remained healthy and independent until her early 90s. She had mostly had friends âher ageâ, and had to acquire an entirely new set of friends to replace the ones who died off.
I like to have friends in different life stages, and different ages. People who are different from me offer a lot of perspective and I enjoy my time with them.
What are our FSA level posts per month? I need to know by Monday!
As a lurker, Iâm usually more inclined to vote in polls than I am to post. As such the survey results are probably a better representation of users that look at the forums rather than users that post on the forums.
WELCOME LURKER
Lurking is the forum version of window shopping, so welcome all lurkers
Hi, AlexioXela!
I really find it hard to read these âsorted by frequencyâ graphs, so hereâs the current distribution, with 77 voters:
Under 25: 0
25-29: 4%
30-34: 14%
35-39: 13%
40-44: 17%
45-49: 17%
50-54: 11%
55-59: 10%
60-64: 10%
65-69: 0
70-74: 4%
75+: 0
If you said âAlexioXelaâ would you end up in the fifth dimension? Asking for a friend.
