NL Division championship races seem to be over.
NL WC: Eight teams within 2.5 games of each other playing for three spots.
AL: Top 2 in each Division battling for a Division Pennant.
AL WC: five teams battling for one WC spot, as one will be TB/NYY. CLE/CWS have a good, but surmountable, lead. SEA is catchable by the ATHL, but the ATHL are as close as or closer to four other teams below them.
It might actually get exciting, but there is no consequence for losing, so let’s see where Mike Trout lands. Probably nowhere, since LAAAA will try to overcharge and his contract is pretty high for an old guy (35 in Aug): $37M for the next 3.5 years.
pure comedy, but they are always listed as “ATH” and not a city. Just bonkers that they won’t acknowledge playing home games in Sacramento while the stadium in LV is built.
Eh. Their three-letter abbrev is in flux at the mo’. They are not officially the Sacramento Athletics, so SAC cannot be used.

And this far into the season, I think we’ve moved on from “Davis Martin might give a good trade return”, but I"m not sure what we’ve moved on to yet.
The difference between Sox and Cubs broadcasts has become pretty striking lately - positivity vs a film of gloom. I’d never have imagined this was a year for that.
Also, pretty cool that in a guy’s first MLB game ever he hits a two-out extra-inning come-from-behind walk-off home run. You don’t see that every day.
We’ve definitely moved on from the trade to build-around phase.

Well, only 10 teams in total even have a positive run differential, four of them at 97+ then drops precipitously from there. I guess this is what you’d expect when a small number of teams can just buy all the stars?
All teams can do this.
Some (most) prefer to simply make money instead of winning, and hope the experience is entertaining enough for the fans to keep buying and to stay loyal and to have their taxes pay for a new stadium.
