I’d say the series is a coin flip. If Cole pitches well in game one and isn’t throwing gopher balls like he did in a few starts this September and the Yanks win G1, it could be tough for the Rays with Schlittler lined up for G2 & 5.
Definitely better to have Cole start in the pitcher-friendly Trop Field - that could save him a run or two.
Jays will hold onto that contract for a few years before the Mets take it off their hands…
BravesVision apparently has no dump button, so profanity included below:
Finally the Braves overcome the Cheesesteaks. Not sure how much they have left against Hollywood.
As a Philly fan, I’m really not looking forward to that series. Rooting hard for the Brewers/Padres winner!!
Assuming Hollywood beats the Braves, that’s what most of the country will be rooting for, with Chicago/TB in the AL
A White Sox-Brewers WS would be my preference but Yankees-Dodgers has a higher probability.
We know which matchup FOX prefers…
Yeah. The networks want Dodgers-Yankees every year.
But I like to see teams that aren’t there very often.
I don’t think they want them every year, people get weary. But they do like big market teams to make appearances in WS relatively often.
Big markets have big markets. But it still drives me crazy how they’ll spend half the playoffs hyping the big markets and talking down the not so bigs. The big markets will watch the big markets without the hype. They should be hyping in the other direction.
MLB/Fox wants the Yankees. If they get the Yankees, they want the Dodgers. If they don’t get the Yankees, I don’t think they want the Dodgers… people are bored with that.
The owners want the Dodgers, or the Yankees. The players want the Brewers or Rays.
Will nobody think of the Guardians or Padres?
What I want:
AL - White Sox, of course. TB, if the WS are out. I’m not even going 3rd place here.
NL in order of preference - Mil, SD, Atl, LA
And if the WS are out, I’d prefer TB to Atl and LA. Maybe over SD, too. I’d have to see who I started rooting for when the game started.
It looks like “cheap” tickets for most playoff games this round are just over 100 but White Sox tickets are 300. May have something to do with them only making the playoffs 8 times in the 46 years owned by Jerry Reinsdorf. I think we’re most likely going to skip this round as we’re also eyeing some Bears / Packers tickets this coming weekend.
So Mason Miller is human and the Brewers look in good shape to return to the NLCS.
Dodgers only get a split, I’m guessing Atlanta winning the Sale game is critical to them if they are going to knock off the Dodgers.
AL series resume after nontravel off day between G1 and G2.
Yep.
The White Sox are the most interesting story in the playoffs given how many games they lost in the last two years. That gives hope to a lot of teams’ fans!
They are the team I would pay the most to attend a game for.
I love the Ray Kerr story: 32yo journeyman pitcher with only 72IP career in MLB shows up with balls of steel in the playoffs.
Bold moves, especially sticking in Fuentes for almost 4 innings until he gives up a homer.
