That has to be an early April Fools joke surely…
NZ vs Egypt selling for over $1,000+
Stadium is going to be empty at this rate.

I was curious about something closer to me.
Foxboro, Group I match, TBD v NOR on 16 June (click to embiggen):
The worst of the prices are even highlighted on the stadium map:
Those are like new car prices!
My bosses boss is going to be attending a few games (Dallas, NYC, Boston) and he got his tickets through the UK supporters allocation (he is a pretty solid England supporter and goes with the travelling crowd). Didn’t ask how much he ended up paying but he said it was multiples of what he usually pays for England tickets.
How FIFA fan fest will work in Atlanta
Might as well list one of your games for an obscene price and if some fool buys then more power to you
Like we discussed here, FIFA has touted total ticket requests but not talked about group stage minnow game demand. Sure, people want the big matches but what about the rest? You may have a good shot at grabbing some at face depending on teams/cities. If face is too steep, we’ll see how this last sale period plays out.

We saw some of this with Messi games in Atlanta. I know one person that sold their tickets for big bucks, but most people with aspiriational asks got nothing.
Anyone who lives near the stadium may want to take a holiday and rent out their house for the duration as it’s going to cost them a lot to get the train anywhere.
On a related note, when Sydney put in a train to the airport, the tickets were quadruple the price of any other city train. However, there is another regular train station about 15 minutes walk from the airport. I saved myself quite a bit of money over the years using that other station, although it did require sturdy wheels on my luggage.
I think the rumored $75 fare is just for the special trains the MBTA will be running to World Cup matches.
The price for Patriots game trains is $20 (“express” trains, nonstop from South Station). The 200-300 people who catch one of the 3 normal commuter trains that stop there each weekday pay $8.75 if buying a single-ride ticket.
I suspect, but don’t actually know, that most of the ridership for those trains is catching the train there because of the abundance of parking, and because fares would be $1.75 higher from other relatively nearby stations that have ample parking and better service.
Two things from the WC tuneup game yesterday that I did not like:
Refreshment break in both halves. I get why they might be needed in summer heat for the WC, but it’s a bit silly to do it on a pleasant day in a climate controlled stadium
No replay was done in stadium of calls going to VAR. In particular there was no replay on the PK call. All we heard in the stadium was PK awarded and then that it went to VAR. This has to be FIFA, as they would normally show replays in this stadium.
Score bug on TV sucked.
As did the too-similar jerseys.
Both wearing light colors.
on the bug:
USA white font, blue background.
BEL in white font, black background.
This is not unfamiliar bug work. Every week Peacock/NBC has a the bug with the jersey color as the background and the font color same as the jersey’s numbers.
And OMFG, on a corner kick they went to a camera on the opposite side of the field!
WTF is going on?
Oh, yeah, stupid water break indoors.
Yes, there was minimal contrast between the 2 teams jerseys.
Oh, and to find out how good the USMNT is, have them play against the Group Winners of the their Qualifying Round. Not eliminated ones.
Pretty harsh handball, seeing as he was trying to get his arm away from the ball at a pretty short distance. Perhaps he has learned to tuck his arm away before the shot so it is in a more natural position. Perhaps the referee (and VAR) will get some advice about reaction time and velocity of ball.
