Congrats IU, the college with the most losses in NCAA Football history.
First up. Both Mendoza’s leaving IU:
Apparently, the competition was too tough, with TCU QB coming in.

ACC shifting their Championship game to Noon:
And this coming year, some teams will play nine conference games, some eight (“waah, we already play a tough Power 5 team every year!!”). So, no issue determining the two teams who will be in that Championship Game, right?
Alright, nothing much happening in CFB.
TTU Schedule came out, and boy is one guy unhappy. A classic clash of religions: High Schoiol Football versus College Football.
Very interesting breakdown of revenues vs expenses for College Sports (for Penn)
I had no idea the numbers were negative for pretty much all sports except football.
Been that way for centuries. (Well, parts of two centuries.)
Do note that the football net is the case only for extremely popular universities – smaller universities lose money on football – and most of the revenue is from shared TV contracts (why smaller schools lose money). Not sure if the revenue is allocated based on performance.
PSU does seem to be wasting a lot of money on niche sports. Maybe a high frequency of injuries? I don’t think it is due to NIL crap, since those only favor pretty people who are also supposed to generate revenue for the uni’s sport.
Someone should do something about that non-program-specific category. Athletic Department fundraising in general? How much of the expense there is actually football-related?
More questions raised than answered IMO.
A source might be nice, too, so that can be analyzed.
Its a table from the Penn financial report release here:
Kiffin’s about to lose a ton of Southern NIL money:

Meanwhile, there is a push for 24 teams in the CFP, cuz… well, more money, and coaches want to be included.

At this point, the NCAA should say “you know what, there are no more rules. We’ve tried enforcing what everyone knows is a bright red line, the courts said they don’t care. Everyone, do whatever you want.”
Big 12 colleges thinking about taking their balls and going home, and not just footballs:
Maybe the conference could kick T-Tech out of the Conference
The Texas AG sent a letter to the BIG 12 ahead of their Executive Board meeting today and full Board meeting next week saying if they do anything to punish TT, expect to be sued.
TT released a video of the President, AD and HC this today.
If you bet on games in violation of the rules, does it matter whether you say you didn’t do anything to affect the outcome or give information to others?
Paxton did this? Isn’t he running for Senate? Seems like the non Big 12 teams in TX have more voters than TT, and I bet they won’t want to play TT either.
Non-Big 12? I’m thinking the non-TT big 12 teams have more voters than TT. And I’m thinking Texas is probably really laughing at TT’s offer to buy out a game to play them this year.
Big 12 has filed suit against TTU, Texas AG, et al. in Federal court asking for an injunction allowing them to enforce their own bylaws.
And now the reporting is that Brendan Sorsby will drop his lawsuit against the NCAA which will cancel the retraining order and he will then be ineligible to play college football at which time he will enter the NFL’s supplemental draft.
This after the AG’s of Oklahoma, Kansas and Utah indicated they would be supporting the Big 12 in their lawsuit against TTU and the Texas AG.
Dude is high-maintenance. I don’t think anyone will take him.
Wanna bet?
