Its that time of the year again…how big was your annual raise for 2025?
Raise was standard. Exceeded expectations so got a little better than the company average.
Bonus was exceptional, company had a killer year.
If I don’t change jobs the rest of the year, my w-2 will be about 11% higher than last year (where I also had a great review and an exceptional bonus).
UK Companies are getting hit with a pretty large tax on employment (employer FICA style tax went up) so our raises got lowered this coming year to compensate in favour of a larger bonus (as bonuses aren’t taxed in the same way).
No raises for retirees not yet taking SS. Pensions don’t have inflation escalators.
total comp answered in poll. incr was all within the bonus for…reasons I guess. (reasons I don’t care to get into)
Raise was above the company average which was nice. Bonuses haven’t been announced yet, but rumor is they are going to be very low, so that’s unfortunate.
We got the max performance bonus. That’s always good.
The raise was, … well, there’s a new corporate approach to raises across the company. I’ll let you all divine how this impacted the actuaries.
Update on that situation:
0% annual compensation increase
New job, though
new role at same company or new company?
New company, +23.3% raise.
At the company being discussed, the actuaries were told that HR did a market study of salaries and found that many of the actuaries were overpaid, and therefore were virtually ineligible for raises without specific approval by the CEO. Therefore, many employees got 0% raises and were implicitly told that it would be several years before they’d become eligible again.
