And, some don’t:

Sanders to Cleveland. Were he to succeed there, it would be something.

I kept hearing about the Bears potentially taking Tyler Warren, so was surprised they went with Loveland. Also wasn’t expecting them to take a WR second. If they can’t pass for 4k yards with this group, it’s never going to happen.

My money’s still on “never going to happen”

Seems likely Shadeur Sanders is a cut candidate, sending him to the practice squad.

Flacco could get cut if the Browns think he’s washed, but may very well be the starter.

Pickett could also be the starter, and I think unlikely to be cut given the Browns just traded for him

Gabriel is a 3rd round pick. Almost certain to be rostered, likely holding a clipboard

Watson may return mid-season, and won’t be cut due to massive cap hit.

I’d say perhaps Sanders’ best shot at staying on the roster is at QB3 if the Browns decide to move on from Flacco and Watson isn’t available all season

CLE will bide their time, waiting for other team’s QBs to get injured or to prove themselves incapable. That will require CLE to make their own QBs appear to be capable.
But, drafting two QBs in one draft seems pretty stupid.

all the QBS are cuttable without a lot of pain in CLE except, of course, watson. (he is the MOST cuttable but the pain would be astronomical). watson will be on the IR I figure for a while delaying the urgency on roster space.

either gabriel or sanders are candidates for PS. depending on preseason stuff they are likely both low risk to get snatched up by some team. esp when sanders brings more than average excitement that you usually don’t get from a 2nd or 3rd string QB.

drafting 2 QBs in same draft not likely that common. Last year patriots picked Drake Maye early and Joe Milton late. Milton was an interesting lottery ticket and they flipped him to dallas (and actually I think he willbe ok). That NE didn’t maximize that trade doesn’t mean there wasn’t value in having both Maye and Milton.

going back I remember WAS drafted RG3 and later in the same draft…Kirk Cousins. that actually really worked out. depends on how crowded the QB chart is when you add the 2 guys, but developmental chances at Qb are more limited than for most other positions and getting 2 at the same time seems challenging.

Pickett is a career back-up, at best

I think a 3rd rounder going to the practice squad is fairly likely to get snatched. I don’t think they’d risk that.

I think keeping him on IR for the whole season, and probably next, would be best for CLE, since his contract is insured.

at a non-QB position I can see how a 3rd rd pick gets claimed by someone (absent some sort of incident).

and def the vast majority of 3rd rd picks make the roster (i read on the internet 85%-90% make the team in yr 1)

but the claiming team has to keep a 3rd rd developmental rookie QB on the 53? if they were that hungry for a young QB (barring injury) they def picked one over the weekend. four teams (other than CLE already picked their rookie guy before gabriel. Cuold be one of the 8 who picked a QB in the 6th or 7th. but then they’d be claiming gabriel who did the pre-season work outside over the developmental guy they grabbed n the 6th/7th. 5’11" and lefty and cut by the browns(!) isn’t taking up a 53 man spot. same applies to sanders IMO.

QB injuries could increase the chance they get claimed to the 53 on another team. but Qbs are hard to stash

He done did it again! The NFL practically revolves around this dude.
