Yeah that was crazy that they went for it on 4th down.

One yard. They can make everyone believe they have absolutely no faith in their offense, or, they can show them all why… they should have no faith in their offense.
Ticker-tape says Achane injured on prior play. That sucks.
Need a better play to call in that situation.

Fail, and WAS needs to go at least 70 yards to get close to a FG att. Of course, they did just that.
Kick a FG, 95% good. Either way, WAS need only 45 yards to get a FG.

Last I checked, MIA will be M.I.A. for the playoffs. Not sure this decision is that comment-worthy. And, when this guy gets sacked, his résumé will note that he’s not a pussy, shows that he believes in his players who will be behind him 100%.

And WAS will be going Commando (walking around their houses without underwear on) for the playoffs. You go for it, make THEM get a TD as well or march 65 yards for a minimum FG.

Pretty sure that Twix account (benbotbaldwin? I’m looking there and I do not see the post, but they are also not in chrono order for me, a non twixxer) would have opted for going for it for each team. Because it is a simple decision.

This Bears team is hilarious.

Have they “flexed” a game into prime time this year yet? I haven’t been keeping track.
Week 13 has a shitty NE-NYG game on MNF. They COULD move MIN-SEA to SNF, though it is the worst matchup when looking at the sum of current records. I wouldn’t mind moving LAR-CAR, since that might put MIN-SEA on local Fox TV (probably not, since would compete with LAC on CBS at the same time)

It’s usually way too early to flex any games at this point

they can flex starting this coming week I think

Current Flexible Scheduling Procedures

Flexible scheduling is in effect during the following windows (the “Flex Scheduling Windows”):

  • For Sunday Night Football, it may be used up to twice between Weeks 5-10, and any week during Weeks 11-17;
  • For Monday Night Football it may be used any week in Weeks 12-17;
  • For Thursday Night Football it may be used up to twice between Weeks 14-16.
  • During the Flex Scheduling Windows, the games initially scheduled for Sunday Night Football (on NBC), Monday Night Football (ESPN or ABC), and Thursday Night Football (on Prime Video) are tentatively scheduled and subject to change;
  • Only Sunday afternoon games (or those listed as TBD) are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, Monday night, or Thursday night, in which case the initially scheduled Sunday, Monday, or Thursday night game would be moved to Sunday afternoon;
  • Sunday afternoon games may also be moved between 1:00 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. or 4:25 p.m. ET.

So, they COULD HAVE flexed games as early as Week 5.
For MNF, which they MIGHT flex for MIN-SEA, can start as early as Week 12.

Yeah, I knew better than to bail out with 50 seconds left this time.

SAM DARNOLD REVENGE TOUR?!?!?!?!

So, in a pool with several people, picking weekly spreads through Conf. Champs. I think there is a total prize as well as weekly.
Anywho, need Dallas to cover to win at least a share of the prize (me and another are tied). We could also drop into an 8-way tie. Weekly prize is about equal to the buy-in, so sharing would suck.

What I don’t understand is why the Cowboys game is so often the featured NFL game. Once upon a time they were the biggest draw but are they still? Especially when they’re playing a 2-7 team?

Yes…still a lot of die-hard Cowboys fans, and the rest of us love to hate them.

There’s nothing else in Texas, honestly

I think he is asking why they are on NATIONAL TV or the “Game of The Week” on Saturday afternoon so often.
Let’s check 506Sports for SoCal, nowhere near Texas, in many ways…
https://506sports.com/

Week 1 TNF
Week 2 not on
Week 3 not on, but on in 3/4 of the country.
Week 4 SNF
Week 5 on
Week 6 not on (LAR instead), but on in majority of country
Week 7 on 75% of country
Week 8 on 90%+ of country
Week 9 MNF
Week 10 not on anywhere!
Week 11 MNF
Week 12 National Game of The Week
Week 13 Thanksgiving
Week 14 TNF
Week 15 SNF
Week 16 Will be on v LAC
Week 17 on Christmas (Netflix)
Week 18 ?

So, 13 out of 18 weeks they were shown in SoCal; only one game vs a local team.
Gonna guess this is similar in regions where there are not two local NFL Football teams.

Fun fact, Bears fans: lead the division, with a negative points differential. -30 of those points are one game, though. Hardly predictive in such a short season.
TB also leads their division, with a +2 differential, though the rest of the NFC South is negative.

GB and DET have large plus points differentials. This race will be interesting. CHI plays GB twice and DET once. GB plays DET.

Once 'Murica’s Team, always 'Murica’s Team

Well, at least until all those 90’s kids die without ever sniffing another SB. Then things could change.

Still, the cheerleaders…

Cowboys have the 2nd most points for and 2nd most points against this season. High scoring games are generally more fun to watch for casual fans and have more implications for fantasy football.

They’re fun to watch when they win and fun to laugh at when they lose.

Jerry loves the sizzle and feeds it well. they haven’t been relevant as a top tier team in forever. but they always seem to have something going on. plenty are rooting for them, more than plenty actively rooting against them.

There was no way to predict this at the beginning of the season, when non-Sunday football and “National Games of The Week” are determined.

And note that I don’t care if it is Dallas or any other designated team. Might have been NE in the past for their “root-for + root-against” audience numbers. I’m not the demographic they’re looking for, though.
