2025 MLB Baseball Thread

That’s because they are not all-out important. Only need to be good enough to get in the playoffs, then it’s a whole new tournament and format.

Unlike most soccer leagues, where every match is of equal importance.

What I have noticed is that in most American sports (except NHL), there is no desperation or urgency about scoring. You’ll get the ball back for your turn on offense. “Eh, we’ll stop them one of these drives/innings/possessions eventually, or we won’t win; it’s that simple.”
With hockey and soccer, you don’t get to be offense. You have to go get the ball/puck.
Probably why I prefer watching those sports over the others.

My buddy who was a basketball ref for a long time contends that the fluid nature of the game makes it more difficult to ref, even considering the length of the football rulebook.

The Blue Jays really had something going in the bottom of the 9th. Crazy how fast it turned.

I thought the Jays would at least send it to extra innings with runners on second and third and none out and three good hitters coming up but the baseball gods were cruel to them.

Mad Max starts today so hoping he can win like he did the last time he started a WS Game 7. Looking like it will be a bullpen day for the Dodgers but I don’t expect Max will last long either. This could be a high scoring affair.

The announcers just pointed out that the Dodgers allowed baserunners in every inning so far.

Hopefully they won’t allow any in the ninth

Now there will be a ninth!! What a game!

Oh, Canada…

nope, Bo comes through after Vlad just missed it

C’mon Kirk! Hit one for Uncle Charlie!

Why would you slide if you are IKF? It is a force out and a slide slows you down.

He forgot to summon his inner A.J. Pierzynski

Game Over

So many missed opportunities. It’s incredible.

Them Maple Leaves dun reared their ugly heads again

My feeling exactly. Jays shouid have won. Proud that they played the Dodgers so hard.

Encouraging outcome for baseball is that the Dodgers are not much better than everyone else.

Must now pivot to Canadian football and soccer playoffs.

So close. That split-second cost them the game.

Have to admit it was possibly a great Game 7. Just not thrilled with the outcome!

was a great game.

Jays had 14 hits and only 4 runs to show for it. chances were there. Dodgers had 11 hits and only 5 runs. there were some pretty sweet defensive plays made and i can’t think of any errors that happened. (the collision in left center for the dodgers would have been an epic error but they caught it)
