2025 MLB Baseball Thread

IFYP

My mind made 2 jumps before it understood the post. First, I’m Shipping Up To Boston immediately popped into my head and I thought it might be some kind of parody. Second, and I suppose related, I saw the crochet and thought this was tied to NA’s quilt thread.

I’ll miss Crochet, but in the larger sense, it really just doesn’t matter. They are unlikely to somehow get good in the next few years, so trading makes some sense. But he was likely to be the only thing at all athey’d have that is interesting for the next few years, so that really sucks. I can’t see the WS being talked about at all this year unless 1) it’s about a stadium 2) it’s about being sold and/or moving 3) they’re heading for another new record this year.

I currently don’t have Chicago’s new sports channel CHSN (that now carries White Sox, Blackhawks and Bulls) and see no reason to get it for the 2025 White Sox season. Hopefully that changes.

The Dodgers are selling the ball that Judge dropped in the world series

Study with an obvious result:

Probably need pitchers and catchers to show up even earlier.

Lol. We should force pitchers to throw slow and nothing that curves. Or replace them with a pitching machine.

Mets sign Manaea - 3 yr - $75m – thrilled, needed another front line starter and he was great for the team last year.

And even if better available, I like keeping the guys who helped us before.
Still want Alonso back, as well

The two Yankees fans who pried open Mookie Betts’ glove during Game 4 of the World Series are indefinitely banned from attending any MLB game, a league source confirmed to The Athletic.

They really dropped the hammer. What they did was terrible and I think they should have been banned for at least a season, but lifetime ban seems over the top.

Eh. “Indefinitely” seems apt.
It is not “Infinitely.”

totally disagree. They literally assaulted the player for a baseball.
How easily he could have been injured.

Personally, I feel they could have been tried for criminal charges

Gotcha, I was reading that as a lifetime ban. Indefinitely seems fair.

I think criminal is a bit far. I think perma-ban is warranted.
