Confirming my keepers -

Adolis Garcia (13, 12)
Matt McLain (13, 12, 11)

I can’t find the pick trades from last year so not sure exactly what rounds I have but all 3 are 13th round keepers. If I don’t have enough 13th round picks, move down in following order.

The 26th for draft at 9 eastern, 6 pacific is fine by me.

Ok weird that I couldn’t get on to GoActuary at all. Blocked at work and on my phone. But the direct link someone posted worked.

Draft time is looking good so far. Pick trades are recorded in Yahoo! so I’ve got those… hoping it doesn’t get messed up like it did last year. So far so good on the Keepers, thanks guys!

greenman hasn’t responded here or to Yahoo… anyone know if he’s still around? He might be a zombie team

Looks like greenman hasn’t been on this site since July

I’m here!!! Was on spring break the last week or so and forgot to respong.

I’m in!

OK. Just two questions though. When I look at the “Draft Results” it has me alternating each round the 4th (odd) and 7th (even) pick with exactly 1 pick in each round. -

First, I thought we did a non-snake draft? Maybe I’m remembering back when we did draft of line on the AO and that changed when we went to straight Yahoo?

Second, I know I made at least a few trades with 2024 picks involved so shouldn’t I have some rounds with no picks and other rounds with 2 or more picks? Or is that link on Yahoo to the draft results just whack?

Keepers:
Nico Hoerner 15th round pick
Alec Bohm 18th round pick
Justin Steele 13th round pick

26th should be ok. I have a 5 day class ending that day and 6 is a little tight. Would be great to be able to do first couple rounds online during day like open draft in 3/25 and people post and get through anything that happens but will do best.

We moved to snaking when we stopped allowing pre-season moves, which allowed people to trade back within the same round and do a whole lot of other things. We’re in simpler times now.

The current Draft Order doesn’t have the trades processed yet. Yahoo! can do it but it is weirdly temperamental about it. So it’s either going to process and update after keepers are set OR it’s going to fall apart and I’m going to update it Monday. Either way it’ll get fixed at some point.

You can set a pre-draft order to hopefully get you through the first few rounds. I’ve done that a few times for the rounds when you’re taking best available and it usually works out.

Time zones suck, the East Coasters don’t want to go later. And I’m not reviving Drafty :upside_down_face:

My $ league draft is tonight. This is a 12 team HTH weekly points redraft league. I have the 8 spot in the snake. For the first time ever I am considering taking a SP in round 1 (Strider). I have always grabbed the 2 best available bats in the first 2 rounds, but the falloff from SP1 to SP2 in projected points is much bigger than average and making me consider switching it up.

A few other positions have similar droppoffs after #1 (Acuna in OF, Betts at 2B, and Witt at SS), but those guys should all be gone at 8.

Thoughts? If Strider is gone I’ll go with my normal best available bats strategy at 1/2 (likely pick 2 from OF, 1B, 3B)

I haven’t done a points league but I understand that SP can be quite valuable but also quite variable as 2 start pitchers get a big boost in weekly points formats. Strider checks all the boxes though if you want to go all in on 1st round SP, he plays for a team that’s going to win a lot of games, he’s young, and he Ks a ton of batters so I’m guessing that the potential for some really high scoring games from him.

There are some good high K guys who should pitch a lot of innings on good teams in the 3rd/4th round range. Guys like Wheeler, Castillo, Gallen, Yamamoto and Lopez should all start going off the board around then and all of those teams should be competing for playoff spot late in the season.

Normally this is where I’d grab my #1, and I definitely will start looking at this lot when they come around. I had Gallen and Lopez two years ago when they were cheaper, and Castillo the year before that.

2 start weeks can be a big difference maker. Veteran managers in this league fill their benches mostly with pitchers as a result. Dual eligible SP/RP can also be gold in 2 start weeks from the RP slot. Cole Ragans and Michael King will go earlier than usual in this format.

Knowing your rules and how to exploit them is half the battle!

Not sure if Arthur remembered I’m not only in his league but had the pick before him! I was already targeting Strider (I spend way too much time working the waiver wire for pitching) but didn’t have the heart to tell him when he posted here

Although I would have taken Judge over Strider if he fell one more spot… so close
