Here is a poorly written “top 12 projection” piece, excludes the top non-Power 4 team for (pick your deity)'s sake.
Some of these teams play each other and they won’t be in their position anymore. Not sure if six SEC teams will make the playoff at the end, but that’s where it is now. Win all your games, and you’re in. Yes, even BYU!
A REAL projection would predict the ending records and who each team beat and lost to. Could even use odds now and determine an expected win-loss record. Poor teams that have to play one more game (Conference Championship) and possibly ruin their season should be allowed to say, “Hey, third-place team, YOU go ahead and play the #1 team in the nation. We’ll sit here with our one loss and not chance a second.”
I do not have the know-how nor the willingness to do this.
A fun project might be, “How many teams can win the rest of their games and be in the Playoff?”
All Undefeated teams (13 of them, many will play each other), one-loss teams, some two-loss teams (ND?).
If you placed a bet on Bill Belichick not making it a full year at UNC, … make sure you have your bet slip and be prepared to make your way to the nearest attendant to collect your winnings.
Missed headline opportunity: “When Religions Collide.”
I mean, it is crazy that someone following the religion would agree to a wedding in the Fall. Just sheer stupidity, or a future wife testing the power of her pussy.
I mean, there is a week off between NFL Conference Championship Sunday (Doubleheader beats Singleheader IMO) and Super Bowl Sunday. Perfect weekend to get married. There is the whole effing summer. Yeah, too cold or too hot. Tough crap.
I got married over Memorial Day Weekend, because June was too expensive but it was after the May Actuarial Exams at the time. Rained. Yes, in SoCal.
i can see it where they don’t have a conf title game when both teams are already IN the 12. I can see them playing 3rd vs 4th (or 4th vs 5th) to see which of the other teams deserves in the playoff. the money will still be the same
I’d rather see this.
Give the 1st and 2nd place teams their trophy and silver platter, some words will be spoken, etc. “Now, for a fight to the death: …”
How much money goes to the participating teams of a Conference Championship? Are these figures ever publicized?
I know how much each team will earn in the EPL by placement in the table (British for “standings”).
i think the conference splits the funds more or less equally bc that cash grab is made by the conference. maybe those in the game get a boost, but i doubt it is a huge difference
Finally was able to watch the GAvAuburn game. Auburn should have won, they managed to make more mistakes than Georgia and lost but Georgia really did get some help from bad calls. This after the SEC apologized to Auburn for the bad call in the OU game.
So what will conferences do when this becomes the norm. Not that fines for rushing the field after a win were doing much to stop the practice or really get schools to do much more to stop it. But in my FB feed this seems like it is going to be an advertising bonanza for Crumbl. Probably worth more in free advertising than the amount they will be paying.
Crumbl issued a statement on their CEO’s motivation behind paying the fine.
“During the BYU game, our CEO, Jason McGowan, was on the field watching the game and saw how excited the fans were. When he learned that no one would be allowed to go onto the field, he offered to personally pay the fine so everyone could celebrate together,” Crumbl said in a statement to KSL. “Jason has built his career around creating meaningful moments and he didn’t want to miss the chance to help his fellow Cougar fans enjoy one.”
