Ooh, fines, ooh bans for a coach no longer working college football, ooh suspensions for current head coach who knew something and deleted texts.
No abandonment of the championship they “earned” by cheating? Michigan Astros IMO.

So will the voters in the AP and Coaches which leads up to the CFP committee be less likely to hit teams with penalties for losses given that the conference champs no longer have the to 4 spots?
So what are the chances that a non-ND and non-conference champ ends up in the top 4 to get a bye? And have all of the conferences now gone to the top 2 teams in their championship games or could you have a #1 and #8 team playing for the B1G championship while #4 sits out? And then what happens if #8 beats #1?
Whatever brings in the most $$$s. That’s all that matters.
SEC agrees to have their teams play 9 conference games starting in 2026 plus at least 1 “quality” P4 or ND team. 3 teams every year and the other 6 rotating.
Wow, losing a shit-opponent home game.
Some years only 7 home games. Whatever will they do??
The Quality Opponent will the high-in-demand last place P4 team that suddenly gets good and the game will get canceled.
Or, home-and-neutral contracts.
I guess this pretty much shows CF is nearly as dead as Lee Corso.
3 beats 1 and 9 beats 4 and 10 beats 6 while #8 Bama loses to unranked FSU and probably the biggest story of the weekend is that Lee Corso picked his last headgear correctly and retires.
And the last post in this thread was 12 days ago.
No idea why Texas was #1, except to hype this game more. Arch doesn’t have the arm strength IMO, and his last name doesn’t make up for it. Decent runner, so that does make a defense hesitate. Maybe he needs to perfect his Mahomes, “I’m gonna run – no wait, I’ll pass just before the L.O.S.” technique.
I dunno…
Only a story if you watch ESPN…but I agree that they treated this like the most important sports story of the year.
This was the first real weekend of the season. Hopefully things pick up going forward!
It’s like college basketball now… nothing matters until the brackets are set
Actually, I missed College Game Day on ESPN (grandson’s game and yard work) but when I started watching the TXvtOSU game on FOX (recorded so I started late) they showed Corso donning the Buckeye head. I had to check again because I was pretty sure the game was actually on FOX.
GT scores a home upset over Clemson with a 3:26 drive culminated by a walk-off, program-record 55 yd field goal. That was exciting (probably more so for a Tech grad than a Tigers fan)!
Still not as exciting as that 222-0 drubbing of Cumberland
“Griffin, you are a great disappointment to me” J Heisman
ND (0-2) still in the AP Top 25? How does that happen?
And Vanderbilt goes from getting 1 point and a tie for 41st in the AP last week at 2-0 with wins over Charleston Southern and Va Tech to 397 points #20 ranking this week by beating USC (South Carolina)?
Was UCLA the first program to fire their HC this year?
I was really pulling for Tenn to make that field goal in the final seconds of regulation.

Because College Football is a joke

Play tough teams, barely lose. What seems to be the problem? Plenty of teams still puss out in their schedule.
Rest of the season doesn’t look too tough, though. USC beats two shit teams and is #25 for the same reason as ND: name recognition. Because as the funguy says.
Time for the Conference-Central rankings:
TT is at #11 ![]()
TT is still in the Big 12?? My mistake!
Tennessee Temple has a football team?!?!
