Yeah, I had a look at Miami Ohio’s strength of schedule. I couldn’t find any teams of note that they had beaten or any of the teams they had beaten had beaten. I didn’t look at the had beaten had beaten had beaten. I could find a handful of occasions where there opponents had lost to a team of note.
Maybe that’s an AI question - what is the highest ranked team that one of Miami Ohio’s defeated opponents has beaten? Or, what is the highest ranked team that one of the defeated opponents of one of Miami Ohio’s defeated opponents has beaten? Then keep iterating.
Not impressive after last night’s epic collapse. Coach Davis now owns the largest 1st round comeback loss (VCU at 19pts) and largest championship game comeback loss (Kansas at 15 pts in ‘22). The optics for him are very poor at present.
When I went to the 1st and 2nd rounds in SLC a couple years ago, I expected the Saturday games to be later as the first day they started about 10 in the morning and went until fairly late at night. So since there were only going to be 2 on Saturday I expected they would start at maybe 2-4pm. But no, they started again at 10am.
It was a bad weekend if your team’s colors are red. 5 teams in the sweet 16 whose team colors are red lost. Alabama, Iowa State, Houston, Nebraska, and St Johns. Only Arizona escaped the crimson curse
There was a time when it was a rule in basketball that the home team (or designated home team) wore white and the visitors wore colored but I think they did away with that rule so teams can wear more colors of unis at home and sell more jerseys. It was the opposite in football except for the Cowboys whose home unis were the white with gray/blue. But again, they relaxed that so that they can sell more jerseys.
In the rec/church leagues where they had reversible jerseys or penneys we made the home team wear light and the visitors wear dark.
If they are consistent with that it makes it easier to quickly know who is ahead by looking at the scoreboard.
My grandson/granddaughter were in a local league kinda following the local HS whose colors were gold/black. And I’ve seen others where they choose 2 colors neither of which is white for the reversible jerseys. I don’t like those.
And because of the relaxation of the white home (basketball) and visitors (football) a lot of the rec leagues no longer stick to the rule which can make it difficult to figure out who is winning.
