I was out on the road early 3rd quarter of the Bears game. There was lots of traffic locally. Despite the close score, the horrible offense apparently had everyone turn the game off and go to plan B.

So far, I’m running 69% ATS picking all games (last week + this week so far) with the weird CBS pick ATS but with always a .5 hook. It’s small sample size, so it’s lacking statistical credibility. I have not been placing bets. I’m doing this for remainder of season for educational purposes.
You missed a ridiculous ending. Bears finally got their act together, scored the go-ahead TD with 25 sec to go.
Then some stuff happened.
They deserved to lose anyway
7 games, and the longest positive run by any Cowboys player is 13 yards. Coming into today, 109 players in the league had a run longer than that.
Good thing Derrick Henry didn’t fit into the Cowboys offensive system. He and his 946 yards rushing and his 11 carries of 20+ yards would have ruined all of that production by the 'Pokes.
The defense (minus the final drive) and Swift played really good. Williams was ass.
Yeah he has been mostly horrible, with a few flashes of potential so far. Glad I’m not a bears fan.
He was looking much better the last couple games but i guess that’s what happens when you play the panthers and jaguars
Let’s give a BIG BRONX cheer for NY sports this weekend folks!!!
The Knicks and Nets are both 1-2.
The Jets and Giants both lost and are now BOTH 2-6.
And a special shout out for the Yankees who went 0-3 in World Series games.
Obvious stuff being obvious:
“None of it works if you don’t have a really good QB, which is why teams are willing to pay the premium to secure it,” an NFC executive said. “But what shows in what Kansas City is dealing with is that both sides are working with each other to stay together and remain nimble. He’s clearly willing to work with them. If you have a top-paid quarterback and they take a big chunk of this cap, you are having to figure out which three or four or five guys are at the top, then a big gap. The Chiefs can work the middle class a little bit more than others.”
While Brady opted for shorter-term deals than Mahomes, his pay was consistently below that of his peers, failing to crack the top 10 in per-year contractual average from 2013 to 2019, his final seven years with the Patriots. (He did rank in the top three in 2011-12.) That helped New England put a championship roster around Brady during that stretch, when the Patriots reached four Super Bowls and won three.
Banner echoes what observers have said about Reid: He values the quarterback and offensive line, despite his love for offensive playmakers. Kansas City’s spending affirms that, with $66 million of its 2024 cap attributed to the offensive line. It has six players making at least $15 million per year, and three of them – Joe Thuney, Jawaan Taylor and Creed Humphrey – are along the line, which also features guard Trey Smith, who will thrive in 2025 free agency unless the Chiefs use the franchise tag on him. All of these players were signed after a Kansas City offensive line, featuring several late-round or undrafted linemen, was exposed in a Super Bowl LV loss to Tampa Bay.
If you don’t pay the QB top money, you can pay OL top money to PROTECT that QB.
Honestly, the game is that easy to win. But, owners prefer to make money.
I get that Anthony Richardson has talent, but he really needed to stay in college another year and iron out some of the wtf what that moments he had in college.
Or he would look bad in another year of college, go in the 3rd+ round, never make it in the NFL and lose out on most of the ~35m he got for being a top pick. I guess NIL money can offset this some these days, but from a financial perspective can’t imagine not going pro if you’re going to go in the top 10.
Add the risk of injury… channeling Tom Cruise telling Cuba Gooding Jr’s wife “If he gets injured he gets NOTHING.”
It’s a bit like supermarket tomatoes - pick them when they’re not quite ripe and ripen them artificially. The end product is not as good but at least they’re cutting down on risk of spoilage, disease etc.
Why are the NYJ favored tonight?
That much dumb money?
The fix is on?
Sure, the home team at 2-6 favored over an away team at 6-2?
“Status quo is killer,” Johnson told a small group of reporters at the league’s fall meetings, explaining his rationale behind the coaching bombshell and the acquisition of Adams.
“And you can’t fire me, so…”
Texans lost Nico & Diggs. Best remaining WR is Tank Dell. And they barely beat Anthony Richardson last week. Jets have to stumble into a win at some point, amiright?
maybe it is just me, but I have an issue with anyone that skinny being nicknamed Tank
To be fair, he is a tank compared to the average Dell (laptop, that is)
but smaller than the average farmer in the dell
