Meanwhile, some amazing thing happened on Friday: Ohtani gets 40th stolen base of the season in the 4th inning, then hits a walk-around Grand Slam in the 9th for his 40 HR of the season.
Not sure if any of the other five players got them both in the same game, but they didn’t do it in the 129th game of the season, either.

MLB is the only sport where individual stats take precedence over the game. It’s so weird.
I think most every MLB player, exec, and fan would trade a ring for an individual statistical accomplishment.
They would give up a championship ring in order to accomplish some statistical feat???
No, I phrased it incorrectly. I’m saying stats do not take precedence over a ring.
Baseball is a sport of numbers and statistics more so than a lot of games. But I think if you ask Mike Trout if he’d trade an MVP for a WS ring he’d probably say yes. But we fans do seem to have a fascination with round numbers, 3,000 hits, 300 wins, 500 HRs, are all career milestones fans follow, 100 RBI, 50 HR, 100 SB, 40-40 club, 300 Ks, 20 w are all season milestones folks follow.

I don’t think so, but there’s only so much you can say about 3-32 now, or whatever.
Actually, I"d be posting about the WS run to the bottom every day, but I’m sure you would all be annoyed by it. But to summarize for today … they’ve hit triple digits in losses, 10-21 gets them to the record 121 losses, 7-24 gets them below the .235 modern record.
Interesting Jansen was at bat with a 0-1 count when the game was suspended. So the official announcer will have to announce, now batting for Danny Jansen, ______, and now catching for, ______, Danny Jansen. Furthermore since the count is 0-1 if the batter strikes out I believe the strikeout will be credited to Jansen so then not only would he become the first player to play for both teams in the same MLB game, he will also be able to catch his own strikeout. Quite the bugs bunny type feat!

Ah, yeah just checked, has to be 2 strikes. Oh well so much for that little fun tidbit being a possibility.
Can’t they split the credit, 1/3 & 2/3s? Or are fractions still too hard?
It is a hilarious story and Jansen gets his uniform, etc., sent to the HOF for it. As much as I like Danny, it is the closest he will get to the HOF.
