2024-25 NBA Thread: Oklahoma City claims its 1st title, 4-3 over Indiana

You might need a put them out of their misery rule for that system. If one team is up more than 50 points cumulatively (at the end of a game so you get full games) then the series is over. Miami potentially could have been knocked out after one game.

Good point. That was so frustrating as a Yankees fan.

I am impressed with the depth of talent in the NBA. But I am not a fan of the super aggressive game style that is being allowed by the referees/league. I will watch some playoffs with my family, but I cannot be a fan of the league with how it is being officiated.

OKC showed that tonight.

Yes, Cer!

Pacers are 5-3 when they go down 15 or more in playoffs this season

Pacers are 8-0 in the playoffs when Caitlin Clark attends games.

Their record is even more impressive when they score more points than their opponent

Pacers didn’t follow the analytics… :person_facepalming:

Time to change the title to note something big happening in a big city.

Price looks high, even for the Lakers?

The forbes list on wiki has them at $7.1B, guess they will need to update that.

Or Mark Walter should have looked at the list before buying!

Maybe they come bundled with the National Guard?

I can’t believe we got our hands on Kevin Barkley!

Once we get to July 6 [so more appropriate for the 2025-26 thread, coming soon]: Soon-to-be 37-year old Kevin Durant to Houston for:

  • Jalen Green [#2 overall in 2021]
  • Dillon Brooks [serviceable SF]
  • #10 overall in 2025
  • #59 overall in 2025
  • A 2nd in 2026 [Houston’s]
  • Another 2nd in 2026 [TBD, could be any of 7 other teams]
  • A 2nd in 2030 [from Boston]
  • A 2nd in 2032

It looks like a lot, but with NBA trades the saying is “whoever gets the best player wins the deal” and even if this just gets the Rockets a couple of years to go for a title, that package is well worth it.

It is.
