Sorry to hear this.
Donât know what to make of the Spurs this year but they seem energized. Liverpool seems to have their number but I expect a close match on Saturday. I leave the UK tomorrow so had not looked into tickets: undoubtedly it would be a difficult match to get tickets for.
So I got to the game. Got in late since my first ticket didnât scan. Jones got thrown out immediately upon arrival due to VAR official triggering review. Not a red since he stepped on ball and it rolled causing cleats to hit shin. It wasnât a dirty slide that missed everything. Then VAR official doesnât use lines to check offside which wasnât offside on Diaz goal right in front of me. What a play. Spurs fans were shutting every time Diaz touched ball. 2 goals and another red. When was last time you saw 11-9. Spurs fans were getting super pissed and leaving before end. Several people on our train missed the goal. Valiant effort by Liverpool. At least they got an apology.
Pics are just action, Son goal celebration, Gakpo down after scoring and winning own goal celebration. Have to say, incredible stadium for watching. Not as good for concessions as US stadiums but field views are crazy good. Went upstairs and still amazing.
Thanks for the photos. Probably will never get to a match in Spurs stadium.
My London daughterâs former partner was a huge Spurs fan with season tickets. The timing of my London visits never worked out to go to a match with him but he thought the new stadium was awesome.
My current son-in-law has season ticket access to Fulham matches but that is a different atmosphere.
It was a crazy match between Reds and Spurs. Happy to take the 3 points as a Spurs fan but it was a tarnished win.
Yes it was tarnished and thatâs not just sour grapes. Wife in a class next weekend. Fulham, West Ham and Crystal Palace in town. West Ham lounge tickets (high up at midfield) are ÂŁ40.
That seems to be a âyouâ problem. Check the schedule, THEN schedule your trip!!
Definitely my fault but there were OTHER considerations in timing. I did however schedule last monthâs trip to catch a Fulham home match. However Fulham-Luton doesnât compare to Spurs-Reds!
Thinking hard about train to Brighton. Likely West Ham- Newcastle though. Fulham-Sheffield sold out. Crystal Palace site down.
Too bad Fulham is sold out. I would have recommended a Fulham match simply because Craven Cottage is such a great venue to watch soccer. Seats are close to pitch but you can still watch the flow of the game very well by sitting back far enough.
Sucky Offside call on LIV, but do note that without VAR, the sucky Offside call would have stood.
Need Referees to stop taking blood money midweek.
Not sure that without VAR same call gets made and hard to say since its been in play for 5 years now. I think with VAR the flag goes up easier late due to the review. The explanation given for why VAR screwed up is ridiculous. They thought goal was given and said review complete. Not even watchingâŚor looking at their betting slip. This AFTER VAR prompted RC review when Yellow was given. Too fishy.
The explanation is totally reasonable, since they assumed the flag didnât go up, because Offside Flags are not expected to be implemented for close calls. Iâm gonna pin it more on the AR for breaking expected protocol.
BUT, they really should ask, before starting the review: âwhat is the call?â Probably need the head referee (thatâs what theyâre called, right) get on the PA system to tell everyone what is being reviewed. Then, TV can go to a 3-minute commercial break for more money.
Again, no complaints about the AR putting his flag up on a too-close call, which was the actual main cause.
I agree with the solutions, though (not Kloppâs). Also, I recall reading about EPL Refs and that it is difficult to impossible to become one if youâre not British. That needs to be fixed, as well as to increase compensation needed to attract the worldâs best referees for the worldâs best League.
It was, unfortunately, confirmed scrapped yesterday.
Klopp asking for replay of match but that ship has sailed.
NBC/Comcast/Peacock screwing out the little guy again (yes, thatâs me!). âHey, letâs put the #3 vs #1 match on Peacock, put some shit on USA.â
BHA v LIV on earlier, but no, that is not what is being shown. WHU v NEW.
Is it any coincidence that the USA/NBC matches are usually close to London? Maybe the top announcers donât want to travel (MUN at home this week; maybe there is a pair of talking heads stationed up north?). Fancy car service cheaper than train and overnight stay in who-knows-condition hotel?
NBC this week: CRY v NF
Unbeaten Spurs get to be top of the EPL for a day. Unusual status for this late in the season!
Went over to Craven Cottage to try to see game but shut out. They had hospitality seats for ÂŁ180 but that is a little much for Fulham. Thought I had a ticket on exchange but it was taken before I could book. Cool from outside. Heading to West Ham-Newcastle today. Front row seat in section 139 at about 18 yard box. Cost, ÂŁ70.
